## Description

A prestigious **Government Healthcare Facility in the UAE** is seeking an experienced **Senior Specialist / Consultant – Visceral Surgery** to join its surgical team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly qualified surgeon with expertise in **visceral and abdominal surgery** to work within a well-established government healthcare environment and provide high-quality surgical care to a diverse patient population.

We are particularly interested in candidates with internationally recognized qualifications, including **UK CCT, Western Qualified, American Board, Australian Board, and South African Board** credentials.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Provide specialist/consultant-level assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients requiring visceral and abdominal surgical care.
-   Perform elective and emergency visceral surgical procedures according to clinical expertise.
-   Manage complex gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and abdominal surgical cases.
-   Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and develop appropriate surgical treatment plans.
-   Provide post-operative management and monitor patients for complications.
-   Perform appropriate minimally invasive and open surgical procedures within the physician’s area of expertise.
-   Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
-   Participate in surgical rounds, case discussions, multidisciplinary meetings, and clinical audits.
-   Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and surgical documentation.
-   Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical governance initiatives.
-   Provide supervision, teaching, and mentoring to junior doctors and surgical trainees.
-   Stay updated with advances in visceral surgery, surgical techniques, and evidence-based practices.

## Requirements

-   Medical degree such as **MBBS, MD, or equivalent** from a recognized institution.
-   Recognized postgraduate qualification in **General Surgery, Visceral Surgery, or a relevant surgical specialty**.
-   Significant post-specialty clinical experience in visceral/abdominal surgery.
-   Strong experience managing complex gastrointestinal and abdominal surgical cases.
-   Demonstrated expertise in relevant open and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
-   Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
-   Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-   Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
