## Description

### Job Summary

A leading private hospital in the UAE is looking for a Western-qualified Consultant in Acute Medicine to provide specialist assessment and management of patients presenting with acute medical conditions. The role involves rapid diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment of acutely unwell patients, with close collaboration across emergency medicine, internal medicine, and inpatient teams.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Assess and manage patients presenting with acute medical illnesses and undifferentiated symptoms.
-   Provide rapid diagnosis, stabilization, and appropriate treatment for acute medical conditions.
-   Manage acute exacerbations of chronic diseases and medical emergencies.
-   Coordinate admissions, investigations, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
-   Work closely with Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, and other specialties.
-   Recognize deteriorating patients and arrange escalation of care when required.
-   Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow patient-safety protocols.
-   Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and continuing professional development.

## Requirements

-   Medical degree with recognized postgraduate specialist qualification in Acute Medicine or Internal Medicine with substantial acute medical experience.
-   Relevant Western qualification, such as UK CCT/CCST, Irish CSCST, American Board Certification, Canadian Royal College certification, FRACP, or an equivalent recognized qualification appropriate to the specialty.
-   Strong experience in acute medical assessment, stabilization, and management of complex patients.
-   Experience in a tertiary hospital or acute medical unit is preferred.
-   Excellent clinical decision-making, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
