## Description

### Job Summary

We are seeking qualified and experienced Specialist / Consultant General Surgeons to join leading healthcare facilities across the UAE. The successful candidates will be responsible for diagnosing and managing a wide range of surgical conditions, performing elective and emergency surgical procedures, and providing comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care in accordance with international clinical standards.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Diagnose, evaluate and manage a broad range of general surgical conditions affecting the abdomen, gastrointestinal tract, breast, skin and soft tissues.
    
-   Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair and other common general surgical interventions.
    
-   Perform open, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical procedures within the scope of clinical expertise.
    
-   Manage acute surgical presentations, abdominal emergencies, gastrointestinal bleeding and traumatic surgical conditions.
    
-   Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and develop appropriate surgical treatment plans.
    
-   Provide post-operative monitoring, wound management and follow-up care to ensure optimal patient recovery.
    
-   Evaluate and manage patients with abdominal masses, gastrointestinal disorders and other complex surgical conditions.
    
-   Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anaesthesiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
    
-   Participate in surgical audits, clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
    
-   Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to clinical education and professional development.
    
-   Maintain accurate medical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and international clinical standards.

## Requirements

-   MBBS or equivalent recognised medical degree.
    
-   Recognised postgraduate specialist qualification in General Surgery.
    
-   Western Board Certification, such as UK CCT, American Board Certification, Australian FRACS or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification.
    
-   Relevant post-specialisation clinical and surgical experience.
    
-   Proven expertise in elective and emergency general surgical procedures.
    
-   Experience in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery is preferred.
    
-   Eligibility for DHA, DOH Abu Dhabi or MOHAP licensing as a Specialist or Consultant General Surgeon, subject to authority assessment.
    
-   Excellent surgical judgement, clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
