Sigma Defense is seeking a **Manual/CNC Machinist** to join our team in Huntsville, AL.

## Requirements

-   3+ years of relevant experience.
-   Strong communication skills are required.
-   Ability to regularly lift and carry 100 Lbs.
-   Working experience using manual and hydraulic shears, breaks, and presses is preferred.
-   Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required when operating machines.
-   Must be able to use metal working equipment, such as band saws, cutoff saws, hydraulic press, as well as other basic metal working tools.
-   Must be familiar with and capable of using manual machining accessories such as rotary table, steady rest, follow rest, etc.
-   Must be a U.S. citizen.

**Computer Programs/Software:**

-   Microsoft Word
-   Microsoft Excel
-   Solidworks

**Personnel Clearance Level:**

-   Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
-   _Clearance may be sponsored for the right candidate._

**Education Requirements:**

-   High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

**Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):**

-   Operate both manual and CNC machining equipment including manual knee mill (JET), manual lathe (Cincinnati tray top), and 3 axis CNC with rotary table (Tormach).
-   Read and interpret blueprints, generate G-code for CNC machining using Solidworks, set up CNC tooling in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
-   Using calipers, micrometers, heights gauges, and other precision tools is required.
-   Must be capable of holding tolerance within +/- 0.0025 when required on both manual and CNC equipment.
-   Experience machining aluminum, plastic, and stainless steel.
-   Work directly with engineers, physicists, and other specialists as required.
-   Work in a shop environment with many distractions such as welding, grinding, hammering, etc.

**Salary Range**: $60,000 - $70,000 annually.
