## Requirements

As an **SQL Analyst** at Simple Machines, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing, querying, and interpreting complex data sets to support data-driven decision-making for our clients. Collaborating closely with data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, you will help unlock the value of data through precise and efficient SQL queries and reports.

**The required skills that we’re after:**

-   4-5 years commercial experience (ideally in a consulting environment)
-   Deep experience with SQL.
-   Solid project experience with building data projects in DBT.
-   Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-   Understanding of benefits and trade-offs between analytical and transactional databases.
-   Experience with one or more data warehouses, e.g. BigQuery.
-   Experience with query performance optimisation.
-   Understanding of benefits between modelling techniques.
-   Programming experience, ideally Python.

**Nice to haves:**

-   Experience in Apache Airflow
-   Broad knowledge and experience across at least one Cloud platform (AWS and/or GCP)
