**Position Summary** 

SOKOL GxP Services is seeking an experienced, hands-on **Field Service Manager** to lead and expand our controlled-environment certification operations across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. 

This role combines advanced technical field service, team leadership, regional operations management, customer relationship management, and business growth. The successful candidate must be able to independently perform and oversee HEPA filter integrity testing, cleanroom certification, biological safety cabinet certification, laminar airflow workbench certification, fume hood testing, environmental monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and related contamination-control services. 

The Field Service Manager will serve as the senior technical resource for the region while leading, training, and developing field-service technicians. The role also includes managing schedules, resources, test equipment, customer escalations, service quality, operational performance, and opportunities to expand SOKOL’s service offerings. 

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of direct experience with biological safety cabinets, cleanrooms, HEPA-filtered systems, laminar-flow equipment, fume hoods, airflow testing, calibration, and other controlled-environment technologies. Current or former NSF/ANSI 49 Biosafety Cabinet Field Certifier accreditation is strongly preferred.

**Key Responsibilities** 

Technical Service 

-   Independently perform testing, certification, inspection, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of biological safety cabinets, laminar airflow workbenches, HEPA filtration systems, fume hoods, cleanrooms, and related equipment. 

-   Conduct HEPA filter integrity testing, airflow measurements, airflow visualization, room pressurization testing, environmental monitoring, and related contamination-control assessments. 

-   Diagnose mechanical, electrical, airflow, filtration, alarm, sensor, control-system, and equipment-performance issues. 

-   Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including replacement of filters, motors, blowers, controls, sensors, and related components. 

-   Support equipment installation, commissioning, relocation, decontamination, and decommissioning. 

-   Prepare, review, and approve certification reports, service records, test results, calibration documentation, and technical recommendations. 

-   Ensure work meets applicable industry standards, customer requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company quality procedures. 

Team and Regional Operations 

-   Lead, train, mentor, and develop a regional team of field-service technicians. 

-   Evaluate technician competency and readiness for independent assignments. 

-   Support initial and renewed NSF/ANSI 49 accreditation where applicable. 

-   Monitor technician productivity, safety, quality, professionalism, and customer-service performance. 

-   Coordinate workload, scheduling, travel, customer demand, and resource utilization across the Tri-State territory. 

-   Resolve technical, logistical, scheduling, and customer-service issues. 

-   Manage service tools, regional inventory, test instruments, calibration schedules, calibration records, and replacement planning. 

-   Track KPIs, utilization, service quality, open issues, corrective actions, and customer feedback. 

Customer and Business Development 

-   Serve as a senior technical contact for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, pharmacy, academic, research, and regulated laboratory customers. 

-   Review service findings, equipment conditions, compliance concerns, and recommended corrective actions with customers. 

-   Resolve escalated technical and customer issues. 

-   Build strong customer relationships and identify unmet service needs. 

-   Support pricing, proposals, scope development, customer solutions, and new-business opportunities. 

-   Identify opportunities to expand testing, certification, maintenance, repair, calibration, and laboratory-equipment services. 

-   Contribute to regional growth, customer retention, service standards, operating procedures, and scalable processes.

## Requirements

**Required Qualifications:** 

-   Minimum 10 years of directly relevant technical field-service experience involving biological safety cabinets, cleanrooms, controlled environments, HEPA filtration, HVAC systems, calibration, or related equipment. 

-   Demonstrated ability to independently perform testing, certification, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair. 

-   Extensive experience with biological safety cabinets, cleanrooms, laminar-flow systems, fume hoods, or related controlled-environment equipment. 

-   Experience training, mentoring, supervising, or leading technical personnel. 

-   Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. 

-   Advanced knowledge of airflow, filtration, contamination control, equipment performance, and controlled-environment principles. 

-   Experience reviewing technical data, certification reports, calibration records, and service documentation. 

-   Strong customer-service, communication, relationship-management, and issue-resolution skills. 

-   Ability to manage technician schedules, customer priorities, service issues, and regional resources. 

-   Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field-service documentation systems. 

-   Ability to work independently and make sound technical and operational decisions. 

-   Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. 

-   Reliable personal vehicle for customer-site travel. 

-   Ability to travel regularly throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. 

-   Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing positions. 

-   Ability to meet applicable background-check, drug-screening, safety-training, and customer site-access requirements. 

**Preferred Qualifications:**

-   Current or former NSF/ANSI 49 Accredited Biosafety Cabinet Field Certifier. 

-   Extensive hands-on experience testing, certifying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing biological safety cabinets. 

-   Experience with Class I, Class II, and/or Class III biological safety cabinets. 

-   Expertise in cleanroom certification, HEPA filter integrity testing, airflow measurement, smoke studies, room pressurization, and environmental monitoring. 

-   Knowledge of ISO 14644, USP <797>, USP <800>, Annex 1, pharmacy compliance requirements, and contamination-control practices. 

-   Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, diagnostics, life sciences, academic, research, or other regulated environments. 

-   Experience managing a regional field-service team. 

-   Experience with pricing, proposals, service-line development, customer solutions, or commercialization of technical services. 

-   Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business Management, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.
