## Description

The **Energy Solutions Engineer – Mechanical** at Solarvest EE is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing mechanical energy efficiency solutions, with a strong focus on HVAC systems, chillers, AHU, air compressors, boilers and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) systems. This role involves conducting technical assessments, developing customized energy-saving solutions, and ensuring the successful execution of energy efficiency (EE) projects in industrial, commercial, and municipal sectors.

**Key Responsibilities**

### **1\. Energy Efficiency Solution Development**

-   Design and implement mechanical energy efficiency solutions, including HVAC, chillers, AHU, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, and compressed air systems.
-   Develop Thermal Energy Storage (TES) solutions, integrating them into energy efficiency projects to optimize cooling demand and reduce peak energy consumption.
-   Perform load calculations, system sizing, and thermal modelling to enhance energy performance.

**2\. Technical Assessment and System Analysis**

-   Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing mechanical systems for inefficiencies and potential energy-saving opportunities.
-   Analyze energy usage trends, system performance, and process inefficiencies to recommend improvements.
-   Work closely with the Energy Analyst to interpret audit findings and translate them into actionable mechanical energy solutions.

**3\. Project Execution and Implementation**

-   Oversee the installation, commissioning, and validation of mechanical energy efficiency solutions, ensuring proper integration into client facilities.
-   Conduct performance testing and measurement & verification (M&V) to ensure that implemented solutions meet expected energy savings.
-   Collaborate with electrical energy solutions engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical energy-saving strategies for holistic EE projects.
-   Communicate with stakeholders to understand their energy goals, address their concerns, and provide regular updates on project status and performance.

**4\. Research and Innovation**

-   Stay updated on advanced mechanical energy efficiency technologies, including next-generation TES, HVAC automation, and energy recovery systems.
-   Identify and evaluate new products, design methods, and best practices to enhance energy efficiency project outcomes.

**5\. Compliance and Reporting**

-   Ensure compliance with industry regulations, energy efficiency act and standards, and green building certifications (e.g., ISO 50001, GreenRE, LEED).
-   Prepare and present detailed technical reports, system designs, and project proposals for internal and client review.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
-   3–5 years of experience in energy efficiency, HVAC, or mechanical system optimization projects.
-   Knowledge of Thermal Energy Storage (TES), HVAC automation, and mechanical energy efficiency strategies.

-   Experience in project execution, performance validation, and system commissioning.
-   Registered Energy Manager (REM) Type 2 or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a plus.
