## Description

Overview

What began in 2017 as an idea on the back of a napkin has quickly become an award-winning, fastest-growing communications firm working with some big-name consumer and B2B technology brands. At SourceCode, we’re focused on bringing brains and hustle, humanity and technology, creativity and business intelligence back to public relations.

Having worked in comms for a number of years, SourceCode’s Senior Account Executives are expected to have developed a solid media network and an aptitude for working with media to co-create stories. We want our team members to be given responsibilities and opportunities to help them grow as professionals. You won’t be remaining on the sidelines of an account here; you will act as a driving force behind successful PR campaigns from start to finish, managing projects independently and stepping into leadership roles. Opportunity is earned and is celebrated across the wider team.

This role encompasses five core pillars: Client Relations & Strategic Insight, Media Savvy & Campaign Execution, Content & Integrated Communications, Project Management & Operational Excellence, and Business Development & Team Leadership.

### Client Relations & Strategic Insight

- Tactical Account Lead: Build deep rapport and trust with client contacts to assume the lead client role for day-to-day tactical matters, confidently leading client status calls and meetings.
- Strategic Counseling: Look beyond simple execution to contribute to and shape strategic PR plans, utilizing your advanced skills to provide day-to-day client counsel and problem-solving.
- Goal & KPI Accountability: Demonstrate an exhaustive understanding of client goals and business KPIs. Maintain the maturity to proactively alert team members if benchmarks are off track and come to the table with an actionable recommendation to remedy them.
- Insights Analysis: Analyze data from platforms like Meltwater and Muck Rack to glean meaningful insights, informing your client counsel and building a stronger foundation for campaign planning.

### Media Savvy & Campaign Execution

- Story Co-Creation: Confidently draft highly targeted, thoughtful media pitches and build precise, accurate target media lists using tools like Muck Rack to land tier-one and trade placements.
- Data-Driven Strategy: Analyze Muck Rack open data to draw out themes, identify gaps, and inform more effective engagement strategies, diagnosing exactly where campaign pivots are needed.
- Trend & News Jacking: Consume and flag industry and competitor news daily, connecting shifting macro trends to your clients to fuel and lead high-impact rapid response pitches.
- Executive Preparation: Build comprehensive, thoughtful briefing books (not copy-and-pasted data dumps) that require minimal edits before going to client executives.
- Cross-Client Leverage: Maintain a thorough understanding of the broader agency roster to identify and leverage strategic, cross-client narrative opportunities.

### Content & Integrated Communications

- High-Quality Copywriting: Take the lead on the development of critical written communications—including press releases, blog posts, award entries, speaking submissions, and longer-length bylines—delivering copy that requires minimal editing from senior leads.
- Integrated Social Strategy: Build integrated social and digital components into broader PR campaigns, overseeing social calendar management and creative content creation.
- Influencer & Analyst Mapping: Research, identify, and map targeted influencers and primary industry analyst targets to support comprehensive client campaigns.

### Project Management & Operational Excellence

- Account Project Management: Act as the operational backbone of your accounts, independently building, assigning, and tracking tasks across teams within Asana to meet strict deadlines.
- Campaign Logistics: Proactively track and manage speaker/awards programs, editorial calendars, and seasonal event schedules to maximize client coverage opportunities.
- Reporting Rigor: Own client-facing logistics, drafting clean meeting agendas, action items, wrap-up recaps, and priority emails with minimal guidance.
- Tool Competency: Demonstrate native fluency across all agency software, workflows, and tracking tools, including Meltwater, Muck Rack, Asana, Harvest, SEMRush, Businesswire, ClickTime, and Coverage Tracker/Impact Dashboards.

### Business Development & Team Leadership

- Pitch & Proposal Support: Learn how to contribute meaningfully to new business opportunities by researching prospects, synthesizing competitive information, contributing to proposal copy, and taking an active role in live pitch meetings.
- Mentorship & Delegation: Begin preparing for senior leadership roles by effectively delegating tasks to, mentoring, and guiding junior account staff.
- Internal Training: Share your expertise by leading internal agency training sessions focused on media relations, emerging tech trends, or tools you have mastered.
- Agency Ambassador: Act as an authentic ambassador for the agency, leveraging your knowledge of emerging technologies and AI tools to maximize internal efficiency and client success.

## Requirements

- 3–5 years of progressive public relations agency experience with a proven track record of managing media relations, executing successful campaigns, and guiding client accounts.
- Core Characteristics: You are an accountable, people-first, and highly disciplined professional. You are bold, ambitious, open-minded, curious, and imaginative. You pride yourself on being a problem solver, not a problem presenter, balancing sharp creative thinking with precise, detail-oriented execution.
- Advanced PR Skills: Established contacts across tech, business, and trade media landscapes, with a reputation for delivering high-quality stories.
- Emerging Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing projects independently, with an appetite to learn financial management, organizational strategy, and team leadership.
