**Salary:** EUR 60,000–75,600

**Workplace:** remote

## Description

We're looking for an **Engineering Delivery Lead** to be the bridge between our engineering teams and our clients - owning day-to-day people leadership, performance tracking, and client communication across our project portfolio. You'll help engineers stay organized and unblocked, keep clients aligned and informed, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks between "what the client needs" and "what the team is building." By doing that, you’ll help shape how Space Inch scales its overall delivery capabilities. Driving internal AI adoption by leading a step-change in how our teams work is also a part of the role, focusing on modern tooling, upskilling, workflow design, and productivity.

Thriving across diverse technical stacks, we bring operational rigor and an engineer-first mindset to complex agency work. You’ll excel in this environment by driving delivery standards while actively supporting our engineering teams.

### Our Mission, Vision, and Values

At Space Inch, we prioritize alignment with our clients and team, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs. We are committed to delivering exceptional work while supporting the personal and professional growth of our team members.

### Working at Space Inch

- Our remote-first team (~80 people) is based mostly in Croatia, with members in South America, other EU countries and the US
- Occasional travel for company retreats
- We work on a mix of end-to-end development and staff augmentation projects
- We support work-life balance for our team

## Requirements

- **8+ years of technical delivery leadership** in an agency, consultancy, or client-embedded environment, serving as the primary leadership layer for senior client stakeholders; ideally coming from an engineering background.
- **Exceptional communicator and mediator** who effortlessly bridges client demands with team reality, protecting team health and capacity while keeping executive trust through high-stakes account dynamics.
- **Proactive problem solver and process fixer** who spots delivery, scope, budget, and administrative breakdowns early (from broken PTO communication to missing test data) and drives practical fixes without waiting for permission.
- **Empathetic team leader and coach** deeply skilled at guiding senior technical talent, supporting career aspirations (like engineers looking to transition toward leadership), and navigating sensitive topics like compensation or retention risks.
- **Resource agility and onboarding operator** who keeps people productive during client access delays, handles resource swaps smoothly, and manages end-to-end interviewing and allocation.
- **Pragmatic AI adoption champion** who evaluates real-world team AI usage, establishes operational standards and skill frameworks, and optimizes workflows to boost delivery speed.
- **Technical fluency and system** _**unblocker**_who understands modern architecture, SDLC, and legacy system constraints well enough to turn vague client requests (like HTML mockups) into actionable execution plans alongside Tech Leads.
- **Commercial storyteller capable of translating technical output**, operational fixes, and AI productivity gains into clear value narratives that strengthen the client partnership.

### Key Responsibilities

- **People leadership, coaching, and retention**: Build trust with engineers through regular 1:1s, support leadership growth, provide candid feedback, and proactively resolve risks (performance, retention, burnout) before they escalate.
- **Client stakeholder management and partnership**: Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, freeing up C-suite bandwidth, managing shifting priorities, and articulating technical value.
- **Resource management and staffing agility**: Oversee hiring, onboarding, and staffing; pivot engineers productively during client delays and seamlessly manage resource swaps.
- **Technical program coordination**: Drive cross-functional delivery, turn ambiguous requests into actionable plans, and partner with tech leads on architecture and trade-offs across all engineering workstreams.
- **Delivery Operations and AI Adoption**: Fix operational friction instantly (process gaps, communication silos) and lead the practical adoption of AI tools to boost team delivery.
- **Cross-team discovery and context building**: Bridge communication gaps between internal teams and clients to clarify domain ownership, align dependencies, and unify priorities.
- **Decisive action with alignment**: Take autonomous ownership to fix broken processes - executing swift solutions while keeping executive leadership informed of rationale and progress.

### Typical Challenges You'll Be Solving

- Balancing short-term delivery needs with longer-term team and technical health
- Creating clarity in messy space by stepping into situations where domain ownership is unclear, bridging fragmented cross-team conversations, and making sure everyone understands what needs to be done.
- Turning ambiguous client requests into execution plans across multiple workstreams
- Maintaining team morale and stability by keeping engineers motivated, engaged, and retention risk low through shifting client priorities, scope changes, or client access delays.
- Guiding engineering teams to use AI tools effectively to drive measurable delivery improvements - focusing on actual productivity, code review quality, and autonomy, rather than adoption for its own sake.

### Qualities for Success

- Strong people instincts; engineers trust your guidance, feel supported during 1:1s, and follow your lead when priorities shift.
- Adapts communication style across coaching, escalation, and client conversations
- Comfortable making decisions and owning the outcome, even when the first attempt fails
- A systems thinker who designs how work happens, quickly spot broken communication loops or process gaps, and fix them before they escalate.
- Calm under client pressure, and doesn't pass that pressure to the team
- Understanding of how AI changes day-to-day delivery, code review discipline, and team workflows, and readiness to guide engineers in setting practical usage standards.

### The Role Is Right for You If

- You enjoy leading people, client relationships, and delivery while actively solving operational challenges.
- You thrive in fast-moving, multi-team environments and turn ambiguity into clear action.
- You're excited about driving AI-assisted engineering workflows and helping teams adapt to new ways of working.

### The Role Is Not Right for You If

- You want a primarily hands-on engineering role or prefer working within a single product or tech stack.
- You rely on formal processes and top-down direction instead of taking initiative and leading through influence.
- You prefer clearly defined ownership over navigating ambiguity and driving cross-functional alignment.

### What's In It for You

- Leadership team that values people-first thinking and technical excellence
- Remote-friendly, collaborative, pragmatic culture
- Shape how AI shows up in Space Inch's delivery: visible, measurable, tied directly to client value

### Compensation

- **Monthly salary**: €5,000 - €6,300 gross 1 (with flexibility for an exceptional candidate), based on experience and skills

## Benefits

- **Remote-first setup** with optional use of our Zagreb office
- **Stay active**: Multisport card or wellness subsidy
- **Health & Wellbeing**: 100% paid sick leave + annual health checkups
- **Extra perks**: Christmas bonus and referral bonus
- **Grow with us**: Education budget to fuel learning and professional development
