## Description

### Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team at Sphynx. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Perform accounting entries and manage month-end and year-end closing procedures
-   Prepare and submit tax declarations (VAT, income tax, withholding taxes, etc.) and monitor/manage MYDATA
-   Assist with tax audits and manage ad-hoc tax issues with external consultants
-   Bank reconciliations and other reconciliation of ledger subsystems (fixed and intangible assets, customers, suppliers, receivables, payables)
-   Ensuring clients and vendors’ compliance with tax laws, regulatory provisions, and accounting standards
-   Lead monthly financial closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations.
-   Maintain continuous, in-depth knowledge of changes in tax legislation and accounting standards
-   Lead ERP integration and implementation by providing in depth knowledge and enhance efficiency and effectiveness
-   Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
-   End-to end Payroll remuneration knowledge will be considered as a plus
-   Prepare periodic management reporting (monthly/quarterly) including P&L analysis, balance sheet reviews, and cash flow monitoring for management reporting information requests
-   Participate and support the budgeting process (financial performance versus budget, forecasts, and prior periods, identifying key variances and underlying drivers)
-   Participate and support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing historical analysis, trend analysis, and cost behavior insights
-   Monitor key financial and operational KPIs and contribute to management dashboards
-   Support ad-hoc financial analysis requests related to pricing, cost control, profitability, and investment decisions
-   Collaborate with senior management to improve financial visibility and decision support

## Requirements

### Qualifications

-   University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
-   At least 7 years of relevant work experience (preferably)
-   Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, laws, and regulations
-   Familiarity with Greek GAAP and IFRS
-   Solid experience in year-end procedures and preparation of Financial Statements
-   Previous experiences in preparing management reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders
-   Excellent knowledge of accounting software of Pylon
-   Excellent command of MS Office, especially Excel, and internet proficiency
-   Excellent command of English
-   Certification from SOEL or ACCA or other professional body will be highly valued
