## Description

Job Purpose:

To oversee and develop the university’s scientific journals, ensuring compliance with international academic publishing standards, enhancing journal ranking and indexing, and managing editorial and administrative operations efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities

-   Develop and implement a strategic plan to enhance the quality, visibility, and indexing of the university’s scientific journals.
-   Supervise Editors-in-Chief and Editorial Board members to ensure compliance with academic policies and publishing ethics.
-   Oversee manuscript submission, peer-review, and publication processes according to recognized international standards.
-   Ensure adherence to publishing and indexing requirements (e.g., Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ, Crossref, COPE, etc., where applicable).
-   Manage relationships with reviewers, researchers, and authors locally and internationally.
-   Prepare periodic performance reports for university leadership, including publication metrics and acceptance rates.
-   Supervise journal management systems (e.g., OJS) and ensure proper technical and operational functionality.
-   Develop and update editorial and peer-review policies in line with international best practices.
-   Propose marketing and outreach strategies to increase journal visibility and citation rates.
-   Manage the allocated budget for journal operations and control related expenditures.

## Requirements

**Qualifications and Experience:**

-   Master’s degree or higher in a relevant academic field.
-   **Minimum of 3 years of academic experience in higher education or research institutions.**
-   **Proven experience in managing or serving on the editorial board of scientific journals.**
-   **Strong knowledge of academic publishing standards, ethics, plagiarism policies, DOI systems, and indexing requirement**s.
-   Experience with journal management systems such as OJS.
-   Demonstrated administrative and leadership experience. •
-   Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
