## Description

We are seeking an experienced **Front Desk / Insurance Authorization Specialist** to join our growing medical practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in medical front office operations, insurance verification, and prior authorizations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, delivers exceptional patient service, and is comfortable handling a high volume of inbound and outbound calls.

### Responsibilities

-   Answer and manage a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls professionally and efficiently.
-   Schedule new and existing patient appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and manage patient recall lists.
-   Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
-   Obtain and track prior authorizations through insurance payer portals and other authorization platforms.
-   Prepare patients for telemedicine appointments by completing intake and screening questions, documenting relevant information for the provider.
-   Update and maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system.
-   Coordinate with providers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure timely patient care.
-   Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

## Requirements

-   Minimum of **2 years of medical front office experience**, preferably in **Podiatry, Dermatology, Orthopedics, or Sports Medicine**.
-   Proven experience with **insurance verification** and **prior authorizations**.
-   Strong knowledge of insurance payer portals and authorization processes.
-   Experience managing a high volume of patient phone calls.
-   Comfortable interviewing patients and collecting clinical intake information for telemedicine visits.
-   Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating patient follow-up care.
-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-   Bilingual **English/Spanish** preferred.
-   Experience with **Practice Fusion** EMR is strongly preferred.
-   Experience with **Weave** VoIP phone system is strongly preferred.
-   Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
-   Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.

### Preferred Qualifications

-   Experience working in a specialty medical practice.
-   Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical office workflows.
-   Comfortable learning new software and adapting to evolving processes.

## Benefits

**Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a negotiable pay rate depending on skillset and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 10 AM to 6 PM PST.**
