Life Scientists are trained to be biologists, not computer scientists. Modern analysis tools for scientists require knowledge of R scripting, linux, syntax and other terminal commands, not biology.
Using cloud computing, we are fixing that problem by making genomics analysis ultra simple. We allow biologists to focus on their biology while we take care of the rest. Our platform makes complex data analysis super easy by automating the data analysis, statistics, and visualization of data.
About us:
Our goal at Stirplate is to make science better by using existing technology to get around the issues scientists have when working with data. There are a lot of inefficiencies in science that can easily be addressed by technology and we intend on being the solution. To put it simply, we will change how science is done in the future. Our goal isn't to disrupt science, our goal is to empower scientists to use their data more efficiently.
The fun parts:
We use PHP as a backend with a mixture of python and R for the bioinformatics side. PHP talks to the user, Google Compute Engine processes the data, R/Python runs the stats, and PHP serves the data back to the user. We are always looking for new ways to improve and streamline our stack to get data back to our users quickly.
