Sunshine Communities supports people with developmental disabilities as they live, work and play on their terms. Its mission is to create community for all by building opportunities for meaningful relationships and experiences.
Based in Maumee, Ohio, Sunshine offers programs and services to more than 400 adults and children with developmental disabilities. Some live at Sunshine’s main campus or in more than a dozen family care homes operated by Sunshine throughout Lucas and Fulton counties. Others live on their own or with families but are supported by Sunshine by regular staff visits or in day programming, vocational services, recreational programs and other options.
Sunshine also operates Georgette’s Grounds & Gifts and Sunshine Studios in Uptown Maumee, which employ workers with developmental disabilities.
