**About the Role:**

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sword in a newly created Contracts Engineer role, supporting the continued growth of our Network & Cloud Services business and the wider Digital Platform. Working across multiple business units, you will play a key role in shaping how we manage customer and supplier contracts, ensuring commercial risks are effectively managed while enabling successful business outcomes.

You will work on a diverse range of customer and supplier agreements, collaborating with Sales, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Compliance and Legal to support complex commercial arrangements and managed service contracts. No two days will be the same, with opportunities to influence contract strategy, improve commercial governance and help establish best practice across the business.

Review, draft and negotiate customer and supplier contracts, terms & conditions, framework agreements and commercial documentation.

-   Ensure customer and supplier contractual obligations are aligned, managing commercial risk where Sword acts as the prime contractor or managing agent
-   Identify contractual, commercial and operational risks and work with stakeholders to develop appropriate mitigation strategies
-   Provide contractual guidance and support to Sales, Operations, Procurement and Project teams throughout the contract lifecycle
-   Coordinate contract reviews with internal stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, Finance, Procurement and Information Security
-   Manage contract approvals in line with company governance and delegated authority
-   Develop and maintain standard contract templates, commercial clauses and contract documentation
-   Maintain an accurate contract repository, monitoring renewals, notice periods and key contractual obligations
-   Support supplier onboarding by reviewing contractual requirements, liabilities and service commitments
-   Assist in the resolution of contractual queries, variations and disputes
-   Promote best practice in commercial contract management and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
-   Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support successful contract delivery and business growth

## Requirements

-   Proven experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, terms and conditions and contractual documentation
-   Strong understanding of commercial contract principles, contractual risk and liability management
-   Experience working with both customer and supplier contracts, including framework agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs) and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
-   Ability to identify, assess and mitigate contractual and commercial risks
-   Experience managing contracts throughout the full contract lifecycle, from negotiation through to renewal or termination
-   Knowledge of commercial governance, contract approval processes and contractual compliance requirements
-   Ability to interpret contractual language and communicate commercial implications to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
-   Strong negotiation skills with the ability to balance commercial objectives and risk
-   Experience working collaboratively with Sales, Procurement, Finance, Operations, Compliance and Legal teams
-   Excellent written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
-   Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
-   Experience using contract management or document management systems is desirable
-   Experience managing multi-party contractual arrangements where obligations must be aligned between customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
