## Description

**Main purpose of the job:** 

To test and audit websites, layouts and website widgets built on iX's proprietary Engine 5/Smart Manager platform for the Websites team within the Pages Team. The role supports the Website Tester with pre-launch testing and takes ownership of scheduled audits on live client websites, working to supplied checklists and test scripts.

**Key Responsibilities:**

-   Communicate well with team members to ensure internal website standards are met.
-   Work under the guidance of the Website Tester, following supplied test scripts, checklists and audit templates.
-   Adhere to scheduled project timings and audit schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
-   Test websites, layouts and website widgets against the approved mockup/brief before launch.
-   Test across a defined browser and device baseline (Chrome, Safari and Edge; Android and iOS) at desktop, tablet and mobile breakpoints.
-   Log all defects with clear reproduction steps, screenshots and device/browser details, and retest fixes (regression testing) to confirm resolution.
-   Verify all website content for accuracy against the approved mockup/brief, including contact numbers, dealer details, links and forms.
-   Audit live client websites on a scheduled cycle, checking for broken links and images, outdated banners and promotions, incorrect trading hours and contact details, non-working forms, missing pages and mobile display faults.
-   Capture audit findings in the standard audit report format, with clear priority ratings, screenshots and page references.
-   Hand audit findings to the Websites team and follow up until issues are corrected and confirmed fixed.
-   Assist with basic front end debugging using a working knowledge of HTML and CSS, escalating more complex issues to the Website Tester or developers.
-   Remain current and informed on industry trends, new offerings and interactive technologies.

**Essential Activities:**

-   Browser and device matrix testing
-   Post-launch spot checks

## Requirements

-   Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
-   Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Testing, or a related field will be advantageous.
-   Must reside in the KZN province within close proximity to Westville.
-   Own laptop and reliable internet connection at home is required.
-   1 yrs Previous experience in Website Quality Assurance or Software Testing is essential.
-   Experience testing database-driven web applications is advantageous.
-   Experience working within website development environments or digital agencies will be beneficial.
-   Technical Knowledge
-   Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS.
-   Understanding of website structure, responsive design principles, and browser compatibility.
-   Familiarity with front-end debugging techniques and browser developer tools.
-   Knowledge of website testing methodologies, testing lifecycles, and quality assurance principles.
-   Exposure to content management systems (CMS) and issue tracking tools would be advantageous.
