## Description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Engineering Lead to support utility-scale solar and energy storage assets across multiple operating projects. This role is responsible for improving plant reliability, leading troubleshooting and root cause investigations, supporting retrofit and repair initiatives, and coordinating technical activities with operations, asset management, engineering, and field teams.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with solar power systems, SCADA, electrical infrastructure, and renewable energy operations. This position requires both technical leadership and hands-on problem-solving across operating renewable energy assets.

### Responsibilities

-   Lead technical support activities for operating solar and battery storage projects
-   Manage troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective action plans for plant and equipment failures
-   Support retrofit, repair, repower, and reliability improvement initiatives
-   Coordinate with O&M teams, field technicians, engineers, utilities, and third-party vendors
-   Review operational performance data and recommend engineering or operational improvements
-   Support commissioning, diagnostics, and technical evaluations of plant equipment
-   Develop maintenance procedures, technical standards, and engineering documentation
-   Monitor and improve reliability of electrical systems including DC, AC, MV, and HV infrastructure
-   Review and interpret single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and technical reports
-   Assist with SCADA, controls, communications, and monitoring system troubleshooting
-   Support management of warranty claims, vendor performance, and repair execution
-   Provide technical guidance and training to operations and maintenance teams
-   Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable safety and industry standards
-   Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced operating environment

## Requirements

### Responsibilities

-   Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline required
-   5+ years of experience in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or power systems engineering
-   Experience supporting operations, commissioning, maintenance, or reliability engineering activities
-   Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, including DC systems, AC systems, MV/HV equipment, substations, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems
-   Experience conducting root cause analysis, failure investigations, and field troubleshooting
-   Familiarity with SCADA systems, controls, DAS, and plant monitoring systems
-   Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, schematics, and technical documentation
-   Experience with solar engineering or modeling tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, PlantPredict, or Helioscope is preferred
-   Knowledge of NEC and renewable energy industry standards preferred
-   Familiarity with utility interconnection requirements, grid studies, ISO/FERC environments, or relay settings is a plus
-   Strong communication, organization, and project coordination skills
-   Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
-   Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites
