## Description

Our leading healthcare facility is looking for an experienced **Gastrointestinal Surgeon** to provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with complex gastrointestinal and abdominal conditions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in **laparoscopic, open, and gastrointestinal surgery**, with excellent clinical judgment and a patient-centered approach. GI surgery commonly covers the esophagus, stomach, intestines, colon, rectum, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and biliary system.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Conduct comprehensive consultations, clinical assessments, and surgical evaluations.
-   Diagnose and surgically manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
-   Perform **laparoscopic and open gastrointestinal surgical procedures**.
-   Manage conditions involving the **esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, colon, rectum, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and biliary system**.
-   Perform procedures such as cholecystectomy, hernia repair, appendectomy, bowel resection, gastrectomy, and other GI procedures within expertise.
-   Manage gastrointestinal emergencies including **intestinal obstruction, perforation, acute abdomen, gastrointestinal bleeding, and abdominal trauma**.
-   Perform complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary procedures where appropriately trained.
-   Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
-   Provide comprehensive post-operative care and monitor patients for complications.
-   Review and interpret **CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, colonoscopy, pathology, and laboratory investigations**.
-   Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and other specialists.
-   Participate in multidisciplinary discussions for complex gastrointestinal and oncology cases.
-   Counsel patients and families regarding treatment options, surgical risks, recovery, and follow-up care.
-   Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement, teaching, and continuing medical education.

## Requirements

### Qualifications & Requirements

-   **MBBS or equivalent medical degree.**
-   **MS / MCh / DNB / FRCS / Arab Board or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in Gastrointestinal Surgery / Surgical Gastroenterology.**
-   Minimum **3 years of post-specialization clinical experience** preferred.
-   Strong experience in gastrointestinal and laparoscopic surgery.
-   Excellent surgical judgment and technical skills.
-   Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
