**Workplace:** on_site

## Description

Tatu City is looking to hire a Wildlife Sanctuary Manager to lead its 160-acre wildlife sanctuary. At Tatu Wildlife Sanctuary (TWS) our purpose is to bring indigenous wildlife back into the centre of our lives and to create a society where nature matters.

Our three strategic goals set out what we believe needs to happen in the pursuit of our longer-term vision of a thriving natural environment at Tatu City where we can live, work and play together:

The Tatu Wildlife Sanctuary aims to put nature firmly in recovery by making more space for nature and protecting and connecting habitats, restoring the abundance of nature and improving the health of our ecosystem.

Our residents are the key to our recovery. Our society needs nature, yet we are increasingly disconnected from our natural environment. Sir David Attenborough has said, “No one will protect what they don’t care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced.” The Tatu Wildlife Sanctuary will connect residents with their natural spaces and nurture a sense of belonging through improved community engagement and creating safe, inclusive wild places in the heart of Tatu City where people can live, work and play together.

Working in partnership with Kenya Wildlife Service and other stakeholders, Tatu City is restoring its natural ecosystems at scale and support improvements to our resident’s physical and mental wellbeing. We recognise that we need to lead by example in how we manage our own environment and community impacts and believe that this initiative is a first in African urban rewilding.

This role requires an energetic ambitious multi-talented professional with a passion for people and experience in conservation.
