# Junior Backend Engineer

## Description

Purpose:

To develop, maintain, and support reliable backend applications and services that enable business capabilities and digital products in accordance with established engineering and security standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

-   Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture. 

-   Translate functional and technical requirements into working, tested software. 

-   Integrate services with databases, internal platforms, and external partner systems. 

-   Work with event streaming and messaging (Kafka, MQ) under guidance. 

-   Write clean, maintainable, testable code in line with engineering standards. 

-   Perform unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution. 

-   Apply secure coding practices, including authentication, authorization, and data protection requirements. 

-   Support deployment and monitoring on containerized platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes) through established CI/CD pipelines. 

-   Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and squad ceremonies. 

-   Support production troubleshooting under the guidance of senior engineers. 

-   Maintain relevant technical documentation. 

-   Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and application quality.

## Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

-   Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 

-   2 years of backend development experience. 

-   Working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, and Git. 

-   Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and debugging fundamentals.
