**About the Role:** 

As a Senior Platform Engineer you will be a member of the Development team applying solution design skills, strong technical knowledge, best practice design, and sound interpersonal skills in the unification and automation of the Service Delivery Lifecycle. ## Requirements

**What does a day in the life look like?**

-   **Architect IaC Standards:** Lead the design of AWS CDK/CloudFormation practices, implementing automated guardrails in GitLab pipelines to ensure security and cost compliance.
-   **Optimize CI/CD Platforms:** Manage and tune self-managed GitLab servers and EC2/Auto-scaling Runners to handle high-demand .NET and Ansible workloads.
-   **Automate Everything:** Streamline the SDLC through end-to-end automation—from initial planning and testing to deployment and monitoring.
-   **Governance & Quality:** Enforce code quality via automated linting, testing, and peer reviews, ensuring all infrastructure is "secure-by-design."
-   **Cultural Leadership:** Champion DevOps practices by building reusable templates and mentoring developers on modern deployment patterns.
-   **Operational Excellence:** Resolve complex technical faults, manage release activities, and support high-traffic business events in an Agile/Scrum environment.

**About you**

-   **Experience:** 5+ years in DevOps/Platform Engineering within a commercial environment. Excellent understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and modern solutions architecture (Microservices vs. Monolithic).
-   **AWS Expert:** Deep knowledge of EC2, Fargate, Lambda, and IAM, including cloud networking and "least privilege" security.
-   **IaC Pro:** Highly proficient in **AWS CDK** and CloudFormation.
-   **CI/CD Specialist:** Expert in GitLab Administration (Self-managed/SaaS) and architecting high-performance Runner configurations.
-   **Polyglot Scripter:** Strong coding skills in **TypeScript, Python, and Bash**.
-   **Hybrid OS Knowledge:** Solid understanding of both **Linux and Windows Server** (specifically within a .NET landscape).
-   **Tooling:** Experience with Docker, Dynatrace/CloudWatch, and integrating DevSecOps controls into pipeline
-   **Problem Solving**: Ability to balance industry best practices with innovative approaches to solve complex operational challenges.
-   **Adaptability**: Capability to apply both best practice and innovation, in equal measure, to deliver across a complex operating environment.
