**A DAY IN A LIFE**

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

### 1\. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

-   Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with Teleport's business objectives, procurement priorities and category strategies.
-   Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing projects, including requirements gathering, market analysis, RFQ/RFP/RFI, supplier identification, bid evaluation, commercial analysis, negotiation, recommendation and contract award.
-   Develop category strategies and identify opportunities for cost optimisation, demand management, supplier consolidation, specification optimisation and value creation.
-   Conduct spend and market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and develop fact-based procurement recommendations.
-   Challenge existing specifications, commercial models and sourcing approaches where appropriate to identify better alternatives.
-   Build and maintain a robust pipeline of sourcing initiatives and value creation opportunities.  
    

### 2\. Commercial Negotiation & Value Delivery

-   Lead complex commercial negotiations with strategic and high-value suppliers.
-   Develop negotiation strategies, should-cost models, cost breakdowns, benchmarking and other commercial analysis to support negotiation outcomes.
-   Drive measurable savings, cost avoidance, working capital improvements and other commercial benefits.
-   Ensure sourcing decisions consider total cost of ownership rather than price alone.
-   Develop strong understanding of supplier economics, market dynamics and commercial drivers to strengthen Teleport's negotiating position.
-   Track and report sourcing benefits against agreed targets and ensure savings are properly validated and realised.  
    

### 3\. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

-   Partner closely with senior stakeholders and business leaders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective sourcing strategies.
-   Act as a trusted commercial advisor to stakeholders, providing procurement insights and challenging requirements where appropriate.
-   Influence stakeholders to adopt competitive sourcing, standardisation and other value-creation opportunities.
-   Facilitate alignment between Procurement, Legal, Operations and business functions throughout the sourcing and contracting process.
-   Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure sourcing activities are delivered within agreed timelines without compromising procurement governance.  
    

### 4\. Supplier Management & Risk

-   Develop and maintain a competitive, reliable and fit-for-purpose supplier base.
-   Lead supplier identification, evaluation, due diligence, commercial assessment and selection.
-   Monitor supplier performance, market conditions and supply risks for key categories.
-   Identify supplier concentration, dependency and other commercial or operational risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
-   Develop alternative sourcing options and contingency plans for strategically important or high-risk categories.
-   Build strong supplier relationships while maintaining appropriate commercial independence and procurement integrity.  
    

### 5\. Procurement Governance & Compliance

-   Ensure sourcing activities are conducted in accordance with Teleport's Procurement SOP, approval framework and applicable governance requirements.
-   Ensure appropriate competitive sourcing, documentation, evaluation and approval processes are followed.
-   Lead and maintain appropriate sourcing documentation, including RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluations, negotiation records, sourcing recommendations and supporting business cases.
-   Work closely with Legal and relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate commercial terms and contractual protections are incorporated into supplier agreements.
-   Identify opportunities to continuously improve procurement policies, processes, tools and governance.
-   Promote ethical sourcing and maintain high standards of integrity, transparency and confidentiality throughout the procurement process.  
    

### 6\. Procurement Analytics & Performance Management

-   Establish and maintain visibility of spend, sourcing pipeline, supplier performance and procurement benefits.
-   Analyse procurement and spend data to identify trends, opportunities and areas requiring management attention.
-   Develop regular reporting for management on sourcing progress, savings, commercial outcomes, risks and key procurement KPIs.
-   Use data and market intelligence to support fact-based decision making and prioritisation of procurement initiatives.  
    

### 7\. Leadership & Capability Building

-   Lead and develop sourcing team members, providing clear direction, coaching and support to build procurement capability.
-   Allocate sourcing activities appropriately and ensure projects are delivered with the required level of quality and commercial rigour.
-   Establish consistent sourcing methodologies, templates, tools and best practices across the procurement function.
-   Promote a performance-oriented and commercially focused procurement culture.
-   Support the **Head of Procurement** in developing the overall Procurement strategy and operating model.  
    

### 8\. Continuous Improvement

-   Continuously benchmark Teleport's procurement practices against leading procurement organisations and relevant industry practices.
-   Identify opportunities to improve sourcing efficiency, cycle time, supplier competitiveness and commercial outcomes.
-   Support the implementation and enhancement of procurement technology, analytics and sourcing tools. Identify opportunities to leverage procurement technology, workflow automation, data analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the sourcing and procurement lifecycle.
-   Lead or support cross-functional procurement transformation initiatives as required.  
    

### 9\. Other Responsibilities

-   Take ownership of additional strategic projects and initiatives assigned by the Head of Procurement.
-   Support the wider Procurement function during periods of high business demand or organisational change.
-   Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on responsibilities beyond the immediate scope of the role where required to support Teleport's business priorities.

**REQUIREMENTS**

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role: 

-   Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
-   **Minimum 8 years of relevant procurement and strategic sourcing experience**, preferably with significant experience in a regional, multinational or fast-paced organisation.
-   Strong track record in strategic sourcing, category management and commercial negotiations.
-   Experience managing complex sourcing projects from requirements definition through to supplier appointment and contract execution.
-   Experience across multiple spend categories; experience in logistics, transportation, aviation, technology, professional services, 3PL or other complex service environments would be an advantage.
-   Professional procurement qualifications such as CIPS would be an advantage.  
    

-   Commercial & Procurement Skills

-   Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand cost structures, pricing models, supplier economics and total cost of ownership.
-   Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluation and category management.
-   Strong analytical and financial skills, with the ability to analyse spend, pricing, cost drivers and business cases.
-   Strong understanding of contract and commercial terms, with the ability to work effectively with Legal and business stakeholders.
-   Strong understanding of procurement governance, risk management and ethical procurement practices.  
    

-   Leadership & Behavioural Skills

-   Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the confidence to engage and challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
-   Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
