## Description

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Part-Time Recreation Assistants to join our Family Support Department. In this role, you will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by helping facilitate enjoyable recreational, social, and community-based activities throughout Ocean County.

This position focuses on promoting social engagement, community inclusion, independence, and meaningful experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

### Position Details

-   **Employment Type:** Part-Time
-   **Schedule:** Flexible scheduling based on program needs
-   Weekend daytime availability required
-   **Pay Range:** $20.20 – $24.20 per hour
-   Bi-weekly pay schedule

### Essential Responsibilities

-   Support individuals with disabilities during recreational, social, and community-based activities.
-   Assist with coordinating and participating in group outings, special events, and recreational programming including dances, fitness activities, arts and crafts, cooking groups, and community trips.
-   Encourage participation, positive social interaction, and engagement in all program activities.
-   Provide transportation to activities and outings using agency vehicles when required.
-   Offer supervision, support, and guidance to individuals during on-site and community activities.
-   Promote independence, relationship-building, and community inclusion through positive interactions and structured recreational opportunities.
-   Serve as a positive role model while maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for participants.

## Requirements

### Qualifications

-   Must be at least 18 years of age.
-   High School Diploma or GED required.
-   Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing required, with no more than five (5) points.
-   Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities strongly preferred.
-   Demonstrated work stability preferred, including at least one (1) year with a previous employer.
