When the evening shift begins, strong leadership helps everything come together—from supporting staff and coordinating the needs of the home to ensuring each individual receives consistent, person-centered services.

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an **Assistant Residential Manager** to provide hands-on leadership within a group home supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Working alongside the Residential Program Manager, you'll help oversee evening operations, guide Direct Support Professionals, and ensure the home remains organized, responsive, and focused on the individuals we serve.

This role is ideal for an experienced residential professional who understands group home services and is ready to use that experience to lead others, solve day-to-day challenges, and help maintain a high-quality residential environment.

**Location:** Brick, New Jersey  
**Employment Type:** Full-Time  
**Schedule:** 3:00 PM–11:00 PM  
**Starting Pay:** **$25.00 per hour**, plus evening/weekend shift differentials and overtime opportunities

What You'll Take the Lead On

### Support the Evening Team

-   Provide Direct Support Professionals with ongoing guidance, coaching, and assistance throughout daily operations.
-   Help coordinate staffing and maintain appropriate coverage within the residential program.
-   Address routine workplace challenges and provide employees with direction when questions or concerns arise.
-   Assume operational leadership responsibilities when the Residential Program Manager is unavailable.

### Keep Individualized Services on Track

-   Help individuals strengthen daily living skills and make progress toward greater independence.
-   Support participation in employment, volunteer opportunities, recreation, and activities throughout the community.
-   Assist with carrying out Individual Habilitation Plans and tracking progress toward established objectives.
-   Reinforce behavioral approaches that encourage dignity, personal choice, development, and independence.

### Oversee the Details That Matter

-   Review residential documentation to help ensure records are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable requirements.
-   Coordinate medical appointments while assisting with medication documentation and other health-related services.
-   Support adherence to agency expectations and applicable state regulations.
-   Assist during licensing visits, audits, investigations, and quality improvement activities when required.

### Help Manage the Home

-   Support household purchasing, maintain necessary inventory, and assist with monitoring program budgets.
-   Prepare required reports, records, and administrative assignments within established timelines.
-   Maintain effective communication with agency leadership regarding program operations and emerging needs.
-   Complete additional responsibilities necessary to support the effective operation of Residential Services.

As an Assistant Residential Manager, you'll remain connected to the everyday operation of the home while taking on greater responsibility for staff support, service quality, and program consistency.

Your residential experience will help you recognize what needs attention, provide employees with direction, and ensure individuals continue receiving the dependable support they need at home and in their communities.

## Requirements

What You'll Bring to the Home

-   High School Diploma or GED.
-   **Minimum of two years supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in a residential setting.**
-   Valid New Jersey driver's license with no more than five motor vehicle points.
-   Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
-   Ability to build strong working relationships while leading a team.
-   Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and adjust schedules when operational needs require.
-   Ability to meet the physical requirements associated with residential services.
