The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an **experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP)** to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across residential programs in **Toms River, Barnegat, Lacey Township, and Brick**.

This full-time day-shift opportunity is designed for someone who already understands the role of a DSP and is ready to bring that experience into a supportive residential environment. You'll help individuals start their day, manage daily routines, participate in their communities, and work toward greater independence while providing dependable, person-centered support.

Your **DSP background and medical case management experience** can be valuable in recognizing individual needs, communicating important information, and helping provide consistent support throughout the day.

### Position Details

**Employment Type:** Full-Time (40 Hours Per Week)  
**Shift:** 7:00 AM–3:00 PM  
**Locations:** Toms River, New Jersey; Barnegat, New Jersey; Lacey Township, New Jersey; Brick Township, New Jersey  
**Starting Pay:** $20.70 per hour  
**Earning Opportunity:** Up to $22.70 per hour through shift differentials and overtime  
**Pay Schedule:** Bi-Weekly

What You'll Do During the Day

### Help Individuals Start & Navigate Their Day

-   Provide direct support in residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living programs.
-   Assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication support, transportation, household responsibilities, and other daily living needs.
-   Reinforce practical skills, healthy routines, personal responsibility, and decision-making.
-   Support individuals in working toward the goals identified in their individualized service plans and recognize their progress.

### Support Choice & Community Participation

-   Assist individuals with recreation, shopping, community outings, and other social activities.
-   Encourage individuals to make choices about their routines, activities, and everyday lives.
-   Promote an environment where individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and encouragement.
-   Help individuals develop skills that support greater participation and independence within their communities.

### Use Your Experience to Support Health & Safety

-   Follow medication procedures, agency policies, and established safety practices while providing individualized support.
-   Help maintain a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming residential environment.
-   Complete electronic documentation, daily service notes, and other required records accurately.
-   Communicate relevant information with supervisors and coworkers to promote continuity and consistency of support.

## Requirements

-   Must be **at least 18 years of age**.
-   High School Diploma or GED required.
-   At least **one year of prior experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)**.
-   **Medical case management experience.**
-   Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with **no more than five (5) motor vehicle points**.
-   Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
