### About You

You’re a proven technology owner, leader, and team builder with the credibility, judgement, and presence to operate confidently at Executive and Board level. You have significant senior leadership experience in technology roles, with progressive responsibility at CTO, Group, Executive, or equivalent level.

You have ideally evolved with an SME or scale-up business through meaningful growth, helping an organisation move from a similar size or stage of maturity to TIG into a more scalable, structured, and resilient technology operation. You understand what it takes to mature technology, teams, governance, delivery, and operating models without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

You’ve led multiple technology functions across software engineering, platform and infrastructure, security, architecture, and programme delivery. You bring a strong technical foundation, whether from software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, architecture, security, or a combination of these areas. We are particularly interested in leaders with breadth across diverse systems, including experience of on-premise environments, pre-cloud technology estates, cloud transformation, and modern platform models.

You’ve operated in high-uptime, customer-critical environments where reliability, resilience, security, and customer impact are central to decision-making. You can clearly articulate what was broken or immature when you arrived, the decisions you made, how you balanced risk and pace, and the measurable outcomes you delivered.

You’re commercially aware and experienced in managing technology budgets, cost optimisation, vendors, and strategic partners. You’re comfortable working directly with Finance and CFO-level stakeholders to align technology investment to targeted commercial outcomes, ROI, risk reduction, operational efficiency, and business growth.

As a leader, you build trust quickly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You know how to lead technology teams directly, but also how to create effective cross-collaboration between different technology functions. You are comfortable leading in complex environments where the subject matter expert may sit within the team, while still providing clear direction, accountability, challenge, and decision-making at leadership level.

### **About the Role**

We’re looking for a Group-level Chief Technology Officer to define, lead, and deliver the technology strategy across The Investigo Group.

This is a senior executive role with accountability for the direction, execution, performance, and outcomes of the Group’s technology estate, spanning software engineering, AI and data-driven products, platform and infrastructure, security, architecture, and programme delivery.

The CTO will be responsible for stabilising, de-risking, and maturing a complex, customer-critical environment while shaping a modern, scalable operating model that supports future growth. This includes improving reliability, resilience, delivery predictability, governance, security, and customer confidence across the Group.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll work closely with the Board, Executive Team, and CFO to translate business strategy into clear technology roadmaps, make sound investment decisions, manage budgets and commercial trade-offs, and ensure technology initiatives deliver measurable business value.

This role requires a leader who can balance strategic vision with pragmatic execution. You’ll bring clarity to priorities, strengthen governance and risk management, improve cross-functional delivery, and build strong senior leadership capability across technology.

The successful candidate will have experience leading through technology or operating model transformation, with a track record of delivering high-impact, cross-business technology programmes. You’ll be equally comfortable setting direction, challenging assumptions, holding teams to account, and supporting subject matter experts to deliver complex technical outcomes.

While this is a senior and influential role, you’ll be joining at the right point in TIG’s growth journey, with the opportunity to shape the next stage of technology maturity without having to start from scratch. You’ll be supported by an established, experienced, and highly collaborative leadership team, with strong technical capability already in place across the business, including a technically strong Programme Director and our Development & AI Director, both sitting within the Technical Authority and ready to work with and support you. This is not a role where you’ll be expected to operate in isolation or solve everything alone. Our current CTO will remain within the Group in a more technically focused CTA role, providing continuity, technical context, and structured knowledge transfer. You’ll have a strong team around you to lean on and rely on, giving you the support and insight needed to understand the environment, make informed decisions, and focus your energy on shaping strategy, improving delivery, and helping the business scale with confidence.

### **Key Objectives**

- Define and execute a clear, credible Group technology strategy aligned to business priorities, customer needs, security requirements, and long-term growth.
- Stabilise, de-risk, and mature the Group’s technology estate, improving uptime, resilience, reliability, security, and operational confidence.
- Lead and evolve the technology operating model, organisation design, governance, and ways of working to support scale, consistency, and accountability across the Group.

- Improve cross-collaboration between technology functions, ensuring teams operate with shared priorities, clear ownership, and effective delivery governance.

- Own technology investment decisions, budgets, cost optimisation, vendor relationships, and strategic partners, demonstrating clear ROI and measurable commercial value.
- Work closely with the CEO, CFO, Board, and Executive Team to translate technology strategy, risk, investment, and delivery into clear business outcomes.
- Support the scaling of PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, and customer-facing digital products in a way that balances growth, reliability, customer experience, security, and sustainability.
- Provide clear, transparent reporting to the CEO and Board on technology roadmap, delivery performance, operational resilience, risk, investment, and progress against business outcomes.

### Success in This Role Looks Like

- A clear, trusted technology strategy that is well understood by the Executive Team and Board, and demonstrably aligned to business priorities.
- A stabilised, resilient, and well-governed technology estate with improved reliability, reduced operational risk, and stronger customer confidence.
- Strong senior leadership capability across all technology functions, with clear ownership, accountability, succession, and improved capability depth.
- Improved collaboration between software engineering, platform, infrastructure, security, AI/data, architecture, and programme delivery teams.
- Increased confidence in technology delivery, with greater predictability, improved quality, fewer surprises, and clearer commercial outcomes.
- Technology investments that deliver measurable value through improved customer experience, operational efficiency, risk reduction, cost optimisation, or growth enablement.
- Improved governance, standards, secure-by-design practices, and risk management that enable delivery rather than slow it down.
- A mature, pragmatic, and scalable operating model that supports TIG’s continued growth from its current SME/group stage into a more structured and resilient technology organisation.
- A culture of collaboration, pragmatism, accountability, calm execution, and continuous improvement across technology and its stakeholders.

We’re looking for a senior technology leader with the credibility, judgement, and experience to operate at executive level and lead complex, customer-critical technology environments through change.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have helped an SME, scale-up, or similarly sized organisation evolve into a more mature, scalable, and commercially effective technology operation.

- Demonstrated experience in high-uptime, customer-critical technology environments, with a strong focus on reliability, resilience, service quality, and customer impact.
- Track record of leading high-impact, cross-business technology or transformation programmes with measurable outcomes.
- Experience scaling PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, platforms, or customer-facing digital products in high-growth or business-critical environments.
- Strong conceptual understanding of modern engineering practices, including SDLC, DevOps, secure-by-design principles, and delivery within compliant or regulated environments.
- Practical knowledge of AI, data-driven technologies, or intelligent automation as part of a product, platform, or customer solution.
- Experience operating in regulated, accredited, security-sensitive, or customer-critical environments.

- Demonstrated leadership in complex technology environments where the CTO or senior leader is accountable for direction and outcomes, while working through subject matter experts across specialist domains.

### Soft Skills & Behaviours

- Calm, decisive, and measured under pressure, particularly during incidents, critical programmes, customer-impacting issues, or periods of change.
- Clear, credible communicator who can translate complex technical strategy, risk, investment, and delivery into meaningful business language.
- Pragmatic decision-maker who understands trade-offs between speed, risk, customer impact, security, cost, and long-term sustainability.

- Fosters a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, reliability, security awareness, and delivery excellence across teams and functions.
