We are currently seeking an experienced **Senior Security Operations Engineer** to support a major **Australian financial services organisation** on an initial 6 month engagement.

**About the Role**

You will bring an operational security lens to several key security initiatives and help ensure solutions integrate effectively with existing monitoring, detection and response processes.

**Key Responsibilities**

-   Splunk detection engineering and security monitoring
-   Support **Data Security Posture Management (DSPM)** initiatives
-   Support **Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)** initiatives
-   Develop and improve vulnerability management and remediation processes
-   Develop and refine vulnerability remediation escalation processes
-   Ensure security initiatives are operationally practical

You will be an experienced security professional who can combine strong technical capability with sound operational judgement and clear communication.

### Requirements

-   Strong **Security Operations / SOC** background
-   Hands-on **Splunk detection engineering** experience
-   Strong security engineering capability
-   SaaS engineering knowledge
-   Experience working across security monitoring, detection and response
-   Understanding of vulnerability management and remediation
-   Strong logic, problem-solving and practical decision-making skills
