Oak Park, Michigan | Full-Time or Part-Time | On-Site | $18–$25/hour, depending on experience and performance level

We are an established formal menswear retailer with a strong repeat customer base, and we are growing our retail sales team. We are looking for friendly, calm, patient people who genuinely like helping customers. You do not need to know suits yet. We teach sizing, fit, product and styling.

This is not a "sell at all costs" job. We would rather build a customer for years than force one transaction today. Our associates understand what each customer actually needs, put them in the right fit and outfit, build the sale naturally through good questions, and give honest recommendations, even when the better choice costs less.

What you'll do:

-   Greet and help every customer quickly, and acknowledge waiting customers even while helping someone else
-   Learn to measure customers, find the right starting size and explain alterations
-   Help customers build complete outfits for weddings, interviews, business, black tie and other occasions, without pressure
-   Give confident recommendations when a customer is unsure
-   Ring sales on the POS, and over time handle wedding parties, special orders and opening/closing the store
-   Work as a team: we do not pay direct commission, so helping another associate's customer is normal
-   Keep your area of the store organized and help with stocking and other store tasks

Training path: by about 45 days you will handle basic customer interactions with growing independence; by about 90 days you will independently take most customers from greeting through purchase.

-   Friendly, approachable and comfortable talking with all types of people
-   Calm under pressure, patient and a good listener
-   Open to coaching and feedback
-   Clear, professional communication
-   Business-professional dress at work (blazer, suit or tie required)
-   Full-time: some Sunday availability required (Saturdays are always off). Part-time: flexible, even one consistent day per week
-   Retail, sales or menswear experience is a plus but not required
