TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated **School Social Worker** to join our team for a full-time, school-based opportunity in **Redwood City, CA** for the 2026–2027 school year.

You'll work directly with students and school teams to provide social-emotional support, behavioral intervention, crisis support, and services aligned with students' educational and Individualized Education Program (IEP) needs.

### Position Details

-   **Full-time:** Approximately 38-40 hours per week
-   **Bi-Lingual Spanish Speaking**
-   **LMFT/LCSW**
-   **School year:** 2026–2027, August through June
-   **Location:** Redwood City, CA
-   **Setting:** On-site, in-person
-   **Pay:** **$60–$80+/hour**, based on qualifications, certification, experience, and employment arrangement
-   **Weekly compensation:** Approximately **$3,700+/week**, based on a 40-hour workweek
-   Guaranteed hours, including designated planning, collaboration, and administrative time as applicable
-   Support from both the school district and TheraPeds Partners

### What You'll Do

As a school-based Social Worker, you'll help students address social, emotional, behavioral, family, and environmental factors that may affect their ability to access and participate successfully in their education.

Your responsibilities may include:

-   Providing individual and small-group social-emotional and behavioral support
-   Conducting student assessments and contributing to evaluations, eligibility determinations, and educational planning within the Social Work scope of practice
-   Developing and implementing interventions to address students' social, emotional, behavioral, and functional needs
-   Providing services and interventions outlined in students' **Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)**
-   Monitoring student progress, maintaining appropriate data, and completing required documentation
-   Participating in IEP, multidisciplinary, problem-solving, and student-support team meetings
-   Supporting the development and implementation of **behavior intervention plans (BIPs)** and other student supports, as appropriate
-   Providing crisis intervention, risk assessment, and appropriate referrals in accordance with district procedures
-   Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, counselors, therapists, administrators, and other school professionals
-   Partnering with families to address barriers to student participation, attendance, behavior, and academic success
-   Connecting students and families with appropriate school, community, and social-service resources
-   Supporting positive relationships between students, families, schools, and community resources
-   Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential student records
-   Following applicable federal and state requirements, professional standards, district policies, and procedures

## Requirements

### What We're Looking For

-   **Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)** from an accredited social work program
-   Current or eligible for appropriate **California Social Work licensure (LMSW/LCSW or other applicable credential based on the position)**
-   Completion of required supervised practicum/fieldwork as part of an accredited social work program
-   Experience working with **children or school-aged students preferred**
-   School-based or pediatric Social Work experience preferred
-   **2+ years of professional experience preferred, but not required**
-   Knowledge of **IEPs, IDEA, special education processes, and behavior intervention planning**
-   Understanding of child and adolescent development and social-emotional and behavioral needs
-   Ability to provide individual and group interventions appropriate to the educational environment
-   Knowledge of community resources and the ability to connect students and families with appropriate supports
-   Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-   Excellent organizational and time-management skills
-   Proficient in the use of technology for documentation, communication, and educational purposes
-   Ability to successfully complete required **fingerprinting and background clearances**
-   Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
-   Demonstrated professionalism and ability to exercise a high level of **tact, discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment** in internal and external communications

### **Physical Requirements**

School-based Social Work may involve supporting students throughout a variety of educational environments and activities. The Social Worker must be able to safely participate with students as appropriate to the assigned position.

Physical responsibilities may include sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, transitioning to and from the floor, and engaging with students in classrooms and other school environments.
