**Job Description and Responsibilities**

This is a part-time, on-site role as an **Physical Therapist (PT)** serving a school located in **Roseville, CA.**

The **Physical Therapist (PT)** will be responsible for providing therapy services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.

### **Primary Responsibilities**

-   Evaluate students with physical, developmental, gross motor, perceptual, and functional motor challenges that may impact educational performance.
-   Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans designed to help students access and participate in their educational programs.
-   Deliver direct physical therapy services using evidence-based interventions, therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and developmentally appropriate treatment approaches.
-   Conduct formal and informal assessments using standardized and non-standardized evaluation tools to determine student needs and measure progress.
-   Provide consultation to educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support student mobility, access, and functional independence within the school environment.
-   Coordinate case management responsibilities while maintaining accurate treatment records, progress documentation, and required reports.
-   Supervise and provide clinical direction to a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in accordance with state practice guidelines.
-   Collaborate with school staff and caregivers to promote consistent implementation of therapy recommendations across educational settings.

### **Qualifications**

-   Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
-   Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist
-   APTA membership or national credential preferred
-   Department of Education certification or school-based licensure, when required by the state
-   Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in educational settings
-   Strong understanding of pediatric evaluation methods, treatment planning, therapeutic exercise, and school-based intervention models
-   Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
-   Comfortable using technology for documentation, scheduling, and service delivery
-   Successful completion of fingerprinting and background clearance requirements
-   Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, families, and related service providers while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and effective communication

-   **$70–$90+ per hour**, based on experience

**Physical Requirements**

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, **while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.**
