## Requirements

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a **Physical Therapist (PT)** to join a school district in **Hillsborough, North Carolina**. This **part-time, on-site** opportunity is ideal for a therapist who enjoys working with students in an educational setting and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to help children improve mobility, independence, and access to learning.

### **Position Highlights**

### **What You'll Do**

As a school-based Physical Therapist, you'll help students develop the physical skills needed to participate successfully in their educational environment. Responsibilities include:

-   Providing direct physical therapy services to students with a variety of developmental and physical needs.
-   Completing comprehensive evaluations using standardized, non-standardized, and observational assessment methods.
-   Developing individualized treatment plans and contributing to IEP development to support educational goals.
-   Monitoring student progress and adjusting intervention strategies based on outcomes and ongoing assessment.
-   Consulting with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers to promote carryover of therapy strategies throughout the school day.
-   Managing assigned caseloads while maintaining accurate documentation and required reports.
-   Supervising and providing clinical guidance to a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in accordance with state practice regulations.
-   Recommending therapeutic activities, positioning strategies, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications that improve student participation and functional mobility.

### **Qualifications**

Qualified candidates should possess:

-   A Master's, Doctorate, or equivalent degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
-   Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist
-   APTA membership or national credential preferred
-   Department of Education certification, when required by the state
-   Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in school-based settings
-   Strong knowledge of pediatric motor development, functional mobility, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and developmental treatment approaches
-   Experience identifying physical, developmental, gross motor, perceptual, and functional mobility needs that impact educational performance
-   Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
-   Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and technology
-   Successful completion of fingerprinting and background screening requirements
-   Ability to collaborate professionally with educators, families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams while maintaining confidentiality and sound clinical judgment

### **Physical Requirements**

This position involves active participation throughout the school environment. Candidates should be able to safely perform the physical demands associated with pediatric therapy services, including standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, lifting, reaching, crawling, transferring equipment when needed, and engaging with students during classroom activities and therapy sessions.

### **Compensation**

-   **$60–$70+ per hour**, based on experience
-   **Estimated weekly earnings of $900–$1,050+**
