**Workplace:** on_site

## Description

Titanium Birch isn’t your typical investment firm.

Started by one of the co-founders of ExpressVPN, we’re a small, multidisciplinary team building systems that help us think better, move faster, and make better decisions. Our work spans software, data, operations, and investing. As we learn more about businesses, markets, and how our organisation works, we use automation and AI to turn insight into repeatable systems.

We’re looking for someone curious, thoughtful, and broad in their interests. You might be an engineer, an operator who codes, or a generalist who has built strong technical leverage. The key thing is that you can take ambiguous problems, get to the heart of them quickly, and work with other people to make things better.

You do not need a finance background. You do need good judgement, strong communication, and the ability to use modern tools thoughtfully and effectively.

**Does this sound like you?**

- You’re a strong generalist who enjoys learning how businesses, systems, and people work.
- You use AI well: to explore ideas, accelerate execution, and improve the quality of your thinking.
- You’re resourceful. When faced with something unfamiliar, you figure it out.
- You notice when something is clunky, unclear, or broken — and you want to improve it properly, not just patch it.
- You communicate clearly, ask good questions, and work well with people from different backgrounds.
- You live in Singapore (or are returning home) and expect to stay for the foreseeable future.

**What will I be doing?**

You will help us build better systems for how Titanium Birch operates, learns, and makes decisions.

That might mean:

- Building systems that make investment decisions in public markets.
- Creating a knowledge engine that turns messy information from managers, funds, and external sources into something our team can act on quickly and confidently.
- Working across investing, operations, finance, and data to identify bottlenecks and design better ways of working.
- Systematising recurring work such as reporting, reconciliation, due diligence, research, or portfolio monitoring.
- Improving the reliability, visibility, and usability of the systems we already depend on, and building internal tools, automations, and workflows where they genuinely help.
- Evaluating vendors, software, and processes with sound judgement about trade-offs.
- Writing clear documentation so good ideas become shared infrastructure.
- Taking fuzzy, high-context problems and turning them into well-scoped projects with useful outcomes.

This is not a narrow role. Your scope will evolve with your strengths and with what the organisation needs most. Over time, you might take ownership of increasingly important systems, problem areas—or even part of the portfolio itself.

**What success looks like in your first 6 months**

- You’ve identified and solved at least one meaningful organisational problem end-to-end.
- You’ve shipped an automation, tool, or workflow that saves time, improves quality, or reduces operational risk.
- You’ve built trust across the team by communicating clearly and working well with others.
- You’ve improved at least one core process so it is simpler, clearer, or more reliable than before.

**What’s in it for me?**

- **Real scope.** You’ll work on important problems that affect how Titanium Birch operates, learns, and makes decisions.
- **Interesting work.** You might build public markets decision systems, create tools for evaluating startups and VC funds as potential investments, or improve how the organisation runs.
- **Responsibility.** Your scope can grow quickly. Over time, that could mean owning critical systems, important problem areas, or even part of the portfolio itself.
- **Learning.** You’ll develop judgement by working close to real decisions, not just support tasks.
- **Good colleagues.** You’ll work with thoughtful, capable people who care about doing good work without the theatrics.
- **Sustainable pace.** We work normal hours, with no regular after-hours firefighting.

## Requirements

**Must have:**

- Experience building, improving, or running systems, tools, or processes that other people rely on.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Enough technical fluency to build, adapt, or improve tools and workflows yourself.
- Strong judgement and follow-through. You can take an ambiguous problem and turn it into something better.
- Ability to work well with others and earn trust across functions.
- Comfort working across disciplines and getting up to speed quickly in unfamiliar areas.
- Comfort using modern tools, including AI, to solve problems effectively.

**Nice to have:**

- Experience with Python, AWS, or infrastructure as code.
- Experience building internal tools, decision-support systems, or operational workflows.
- Interest in investing, businesses, or how decisions get made under uncertainty.
- Experience working with messy, real-world data.
- Comfort with testing, monitoring, and reliability.
- Interest in IT, security, or data quality.

**Administrative:**

- Based in Singapore. We don’t offer international relocation.

- Extensive reference checks are part of our process.
