**Overview**

We are seeking an experienced Senior LIMS Business Analyst to support a critical laboratory systems modernization initiative. This role will support the implementation of a STARLIMS LPH solution used for environmental and clinical sample testing and will work closely with business stakeholders, laboratory personnel, and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of the platform.

**Job Description**

The Senior LIMS Business Analyst will join a team responsible for supporting multiple Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and web-based applications. This position will play a key role in the implementation of a replacement STARLIMS LPH platform serving environmental and clinical laboratory users.

The successful candidate will participate in system discovery and training activities, gather and document business requirements, support solution validation efforts, and contribute to quality assurance testing. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience working within laboratory environments, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to improve laboratory processes and system functionality.

**Responsibilities**

**Business Analysis & Requirements Management**

-   Facilitate requirements gathering sessions through interviews, workshops, and stakeholder meetings
-   Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements
-   Create and maintain business requirements documents, functional specifications, and solution design documentation
-   Develop and manage user stories, use cases, and business process documentation
-   Analyze existing laboratory workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation

**LIMS Implementation & Validation**

-   Support STARLIMS LPH implementation activities throughout the project lifecycle
-   Assist with STARLIMS configuration validation and system verification efforts
-   Collaborate with technical teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into system functionality
-   Participate in application discovery, training, and implementation readiness activities

**Quality Assurance & Testing**

-   Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases
-   Execute functional, integration, and user acceptance testing activities
-   Document test results, defects, and remediation recommendations
-   Support quality assurance processes to ensure successful system deployment

**Stakeholder Engagement & Communication**

-   Partner with laboratory personnel, business users, and project teams to gather requirements and provide project updates
-   Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate effective communication throughout the project lifecycle
-   Present findings, recommendations, and project status updates to leadership and stakeholders

**Data Analysis & Operational Support**

-   Analyze data to support business decisions and process improvements
-   Conduct research and evaluate system functionality against business needs
-   Provide analytical problem-solving support for complex business and system challenges
-   Utilize Microsoft Office tools and DevOps platforms to support project documentation and tracking

## Requirements

**Minimum Qualifications**

-   5 years of experience in a laboratory environment, including clinical or environmental bench work, or supporting laboratory systems
-   5 years of experience supporting or participating in LIMS implementations
-   10 years of experience in requirements gathering, use case creation, and execution
-   10 years of demonstrated analytical problem-solving experience
-   Experience with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches
-   Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and user stories
-   Experience creating business requirements, functional specifications, and solution design documentation
-   Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Azure DevOps or similar tools
-   Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
-   Must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment
-   Must be available to interview by phone or in person as required
-   Must be available to work onsite as required under the hybrid work arrangement

**Preferred Qualifications**

-   Experience with STARLIMS configuration
-   Experience with STARLIMS LPH implementations

**Compensation**

This is a 1099 Contract role.

Pay Rate: **$43 – $63 per hour**
