### **Industrial Controls Integration Engineer**

**Location:** Remote – United States, with up to 50% travel to customer sites  
**Employment:** Full-time  
**Salary:** $100,000–$130,000, based on experience

**Position Overview**

We are seeking a **Controls Engineer** to support the integration and deployment of industrial automation solutions across manufacturing environments.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role focused on integrating with existing PLC-controlled equipment, implementing and debugging communication drivers, validating data collection, and supporting system commissioning and customer handoff.

The position is remote when not traveling, with up to **50% travel to customer manufacturing sites throughout the U.S.** Occasional travel to Canada may be required when authorized.

**Responsibilities**

-   Integrate solutions with existing PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and production lines.
-   Work with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC environments, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, S7, and related platforms.
-   Read and understand PLC ladder logic to support system integration and driver development; modification of customer PLC programming is not required.
-   Implement and troubleshoot communication drivers and industrial network connections.
-   Work with common industrial protocols, including EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/RTU, PROFIBUS, and OPC UA.
-   Support integration with industrial equipment such as sensors, instrumentation, VFDs, motor controls, servo systems, robotics, and safety PLCs.
-   Perform system startup, commissioning, field testing, debugging, and FAT/SAT activities as required.
-   Validate that equipment data is being collected and transmitted accurately.
-   Communicate project status, technical issues, and requirements directly with customers and internal teams.
-   Provide customer training, operational handoff, and technical support during project implementation.
-   Follow customer safety requirements while working in active manufacturing environments.

## Requirements

**Qualifications**

-   Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
-   **3+ years of industrial controls, PLC, automation, or systems integration experience.**
-   Strong understanding of **Allen-Bradley/Rockwell OR Siemens PLC environments**.
-   Ability to read and understand PLC ladder logic.
-   Experience with industrial communication protocols and networking.
-   Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and their interaction with PLC-controlled equipment.
-   Experience troubleshooting controls, automation, or industrial communication issues.
-   Strong problem-solving and customer communication skills.
-   Ability to work independently at customer sites.
-   Ability to travel up to **50%**, including overnight travel.
-   Comfortable working in manufacturing environments, including standing, climbing, wearing required PPE, and working around industrial equipment.
-   **Must be a U.S. citizen.**

**Preferred Qualifications**

-   Experience supporting automotive or other manufacturing environments.
-   Experience with system integration, commissioning, or industrial data collection.
-   Experience with robotics, motion control, VFDs, instrumentation, or industrial networking.
