**Overview**

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to support enterprise network infrastructure initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing complex network environments while ensuring high availability, performance, scalability, and operational resilience. The selected candidate will work in a hybrid environment and must be available to work onsite in Richmond, Virginia, three days per week.

**Job Description**

The Network Architect will play a critical role in planning, designing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure supporting organizational operations. This position is responsible for ensuring network architecture aligns with security, performance, and scalability requirements while providing advanced troubleshooting and operational support.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with help desk personnel, system administrators, and technical stakeholders to maintain network reliability, analyze performance trends, support disaster recovery initiatives, and recommend infrastructure enhancements that improve efficiency and support future growth.

**Responsibilities**

**Network Architecture & Engineering**

-   Plan, design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless network environments
-   Develop network architectures that meet organizational security, availability, and performance standards
-   Implement network redundancy, failover strategies, and resiliency measures
-   Evaluate and recommend infrastructure upgrades to improve scalability and operational efficiency
-   Support future-state network planning and adoption of emerging technologies

**Network Operations & Performance**

-   Monitor network performance using dashboards, monitoring tools, and performance metrics
-   Analyze network traffic patterns, utilization trends, and capacity requirements
-   Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity and performance issues
-   Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for escalated network incidents
-   Ensure stable and secure network operations across enterprise environments

**Cloud & Infrastructure Support**

-   Support and integrate cloud networking solutions within AWS and Azure environments
-   Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure seamless connectivity between on-premises and cloud resources
-   Assist with network design considerations supporting enterprise infrastructure initiatives

**Documentation & Reporting**

-   Maintain accurate network documentation including topology diagrams, IP address schemes, configurations, and change records
-   Develop and maintain network disaster recovery documentation and recovery procedures
-   Prepare reports on network health, incident trends, system performance, and operational metrics
-   Maintain detailed records of network configurations, modifications, and architecture updates

**Collaboration & Operational Support**

-   Partner with help desk teams and system administrators to resolve cross-functional technical issues
-   Provide technical guidance and recommendations to stakeholders regarding network improvements
-   Support organizational initiatives requiring network architecture expertise and infrastructure planning

## Requirements

**Minimum Qualifications**

-   7 years of experience planning, designing, and configuring LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks
-   7 years of experience ensuring network architecture meets organizational security and performance requirements
-   7 years of experience maintaining network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and IP addressing schemes
-   7 years of experience analyzing network traffic and usage trends
-   5 years of experience working with cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure
-   7 years of experience preparing reports related to network health, incidents, and performance metrics
-   Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
-   Must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment
-   Must be able to work onsite in Richmond, Virginia three days per week
-   Must participate in a web cam interview as part of the selection process

**Preferred Qualifications**

-   5 years of experience supporting server infrastructure environments
