**Retube and Feeder Replacement (RFR)**

**The Project**

The **Retube and Feeder Replacement (RFR)** campaign is the heart of this project, involving the complex removal and installation of reactor feeders. We need a seasoned expert to oversee the welding, fabrication, and installation of these critical systems.

**The Role**

We are seeking a **Subject Matter Expert (SME)** with deep field experience in CANDU retubing. You will act as the technical authority on feeder welding and installation, bridging the gap between engineering design and site execution. You will oversee vendors, approve welding procedures, and troubleshoot complex tooling and fit-up issues directly on the reactor face.

## Requirements

**1\. Professional Experience & Qualifications**

-   **Experience:** Minimum **10 years** relevant experience, with at least **7 years** specifically working on CANDU retube projects.
-   **Project History:** Direct involvement in feeder removal/installation/welding as an SME in **at least two** CANDU retube projects (including at least one CANDU 6 reactor).
-   **Technical Authority:** Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO) or eligible for PEO status (or equivalent international engineering licensure).
-   **System Knowledge:** Expert-level knowledge of CANDU 6 feeders, support systems, and NSP systems.
-   **Codes & Standards:** Deep familiarity with applicable codes (ASME, AWS, ISO, EN) regarding welding and pressure boundaries.

**2\. Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)**

-   **Technical Oversight:** Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) for feeder fabrication and installation.
-   **Vendor Management:** Provide oversight to vendor activities including fabrication, qualification, removal, installation, and inspection. Ensure they meet all technical specifications.
-   **Problem Solving:** Use your OPEX (Operating Experience) from past projects to troubleshoot tooling performance, welding defects, and process issues in real-time.
-   **Quality Assurance:** Select appropriate welding/inspection methods and consumables. Analyze welding defects to implement corrective actions immediately.
-   **Optimization:** Review feeder replacement processes to improve productivity and cost-efficiency without compromising safety.
-   **Safety & Compliance:** Ensure all activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations and strict nuclear quality assurance requirements.

**3\. Core Competencies (How You Work)**

-   **Leadership:** You can provide technical guidance and training to welders and supervisors, raising the standard of workmanship on site.
-   **Pressure Management:** You have a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality engineering products under tight timelines to support unit restart schedules.
