**Position:** IBM Z Mainframe Engineer / DB2 Systems Administrator Lead

**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IBM Z Mainframe Engineer / DB2 Systems Administrator Lead to manage and lead mainframe system administration, database administration, and related infrastructure activities. This role involves ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security of IBM Z mainframe systems and DB2 databases. The successful candidate will lead a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical enterprise applications.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities:

-   Lead and manage daily administration and support of IBM Z mainframe systems including z/OS operating system.
-   Oversee DB2 database administration activities such as installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and security.
-   Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of mainframe and DB2 systems.
-   Coordinate with application teams and vendors for deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
-   Maintain system security, including user access and compliance with organizational standards.
-   Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
-   Mentor and guide junior engineers and administrators.
-   Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
-   Plan and execute capacity planning, patching, and system upgrades.

### Qualifications:

-   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
-   7+ years of experience with IBM Z mainframe systems and DB2 database administration.
-   Strong knowledge of z/OS, batch/job scheduling, JES, RACF, and mainframe networking.
-   Proficient in DB2 for z/OS including performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security.
-   Experience with mainframe tools such as SDSF, ISPF, and other system utilities.
-   Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
-   Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
-   Experience with automation and scripting on mainframe platforms is a plus.
