**Job Summary**

The Systems Administrator evaluates, installs, and administers major, complex, and enterprise-level infrastructure components and facilities. He provides technical support services to personnel in the Core Banking operations. Plans, prepares, recommends and implements medium-term roadmaps for the enterprise-level infrastructure that he manages.

The System Administration is responsible for the upkeep, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems. He seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources and security of the computer systems that he manages meet the needs of the users and of the bank.

## Requirements

**Skills**

-   Bachelor&#39;s degree in Computer Science or related field
-   At least 3 years of experience with database administration, preferably with Oracle database
-   At least 3 years of experience of doing infrastructure support, assisting development teams with migrating database changes, configuration of the environment, and doing database upgrades
-   Deep knowledge of SQL development
-   Nice to have experience with Oracle systems

**Knowledge in the following systems:**

-   Oracle Exadata Engineered System Administration
-   Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Engineered System Administration
-   Oracle Database technologies (Recovery Manager, DataGuard, Real Application Cluster, Grid Infrastructure, Automatic Storage Management)
-   Linux (Oracle Linux/Red Hat Linux distro specific) Administration and Scripting
-   Storage Management/Administration Knowledge (SAN/External Storage)
-   Networking Basics (Able to explain OSI Layer)
-   Sun Datacenter 36P and Gateway Switch Administration (Infiniband)
-   Oracle Secure Backup
-   Tape Backup/Archival Knowledge
-   Oracle Enterprise Manager Administration
-   ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Knowledge – Optional

**Specific Duties and Responsibilities:**

-   Installs and administers major, very-complex, infrastructure components and facilities. Maintains infrastructure uptime, performance and security at agreed service levels.
-   Ensure that the infrastructure setup complies with bank’s security and system administration policies.
-   Researches industry developments regarding his assigned infrastructure components, to learn and implement better infrastructure administration practices, understand cost-effective alternatives, and to guard against unplanned obsolescence. Where needed, recommends better and/or more cost-effective replacement infrastructure.
-   Communicates, and coordinates with infrastructure vendors regarding product updates, fixes, and support requirements.
-   Periodically monitors the condition and performance of his assigned infrastructure components, and regularly reports the status of such to his seniors.
-   Performs regular housekeeping on his assigned infrastructure components, e.g. cleanup of unnecessary components, system-level backup, vendor preventive maintenance, etc.
-   Create and maintain relevant operational documents and process guides (for e.g. Database Operational Guide, Middleware Operation Guide, OEM/OpsCenter Operation Guide, Control-m Operational Guide, Database Patching Guide, etc.)
-   Monitor system logs to identify potential issues with computer systems
-   Perform routine audit of systems and software
-   Documents the configuration of his assigned infrastructure components, and keeps such documentation updated and secure.
-   Complies with policies on configuration management, e.g. maker-checker controls for ITCRF forms.
-   Complies with policies on the handling and safe-keeping of super-user IDs for his assigned infrastructure components.
-   Trains junior infrastructure administrators.
