**Workplace:** hybrid

**Department:** Office of AI

## Description

### Shape the Future of Privacy

Usercentrics is a global leader in data privacy and privacy-led marketing solutions. We believe there is no need for a trade-off between growth and privacy compliance. Our vision is to unlock the potential of data privacy to empower a thriving digital ecosystem. We work with companies to create a healthy balance between data-driven business and privacy-led marketing for every size of enterprise. Our customers build trust with their users through improved transparency and control to drastically improve marketing and monetization, while achieving full privacy compliance.

### About the Office of AI

The Office of AI owns the strategy, governance, infrastructure, and enablement of AI across Usercentrics. We sit within the CTO office and work across all departments.

**Mission: enable the entire organisation to adopt AI safely, responsibly, and effectively.**

### About the role

You are the hands-on technical arm of AI adoption at Usercentrics. Finance, Legal, HR, Marketing, Customer Success, BI and every other department have real AI use cases, and your job is to turn them into governed, working software, not slide decks.

You will prototype and build department AI applications, run technical enablement sessions directly with the teams who will use them, and make sure everything you ship meets our governance standards before it goes live. You work from the use-case pipeline the AI Enablement Lead runs, and you report progress and adoption back into it.

This is not a support role bolted onto engineering. You are a full engineer, building with LLM APIs, MCP servers, and the internal AI platform, and you are expected to leave every pattern you build reusable by the next team. What you build feeds the platform layer: the AI Hub, MCP servers, Claude connector delivery, the Skill Hub. As that platform grows into its next layer, LLM access gateway, RAG infrastructure, model operations, and evaluation frameworks are the current candidates, you will contribute to that build alongside the rest of the Office of AI team, not just consume it.

On the shape of it: this is a small, senior team today, four to five people, and growing on both the engineering and enablement sides. You would be one of two engineers doing this work day to day, with a Staff AI Enablement Engineer setting the technical bar above you.

## Requirements

### What you will do

- Prototype, build, and hand over department AI applications, working directly with the business team that will own the outcome.
- Run technical enablement sessions with non-engineering teams: walk them through what was built, how to use it, and how to ask for the next thing well.
- Guide teams on tech stack choices, MCP servers, AI artefacts (Skills, Connectors, plugins), and integration patterns for AI in a business context.
- Ensure every implementation you ship meets GRC standards before it reaches a business user.
- Document reusable patterns and components and contribute them back into the platform layer: the AI Hub, MCP servers, Claude connector delivery, the Skill Hub.
- Contribute to the platform's next layer as it gets built: LLM access gateway, RAG infrastructure, model operations, and evaluation frameworks.
- Partner with the AI Enablement Lead on the use-case pipeline: help qualify requests, scope builds realistically, and report back on adoption.

### What you bring

- 5+ years in software engineering, with a full-stack or solutions engineering background.
- Genuinely hands-on with AI. You have built and shipped things with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, or similar), not just prototyped them.
- Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders. You can run a session with a Legal or Finance team and leave them able to use what you built, not just impressed by it.
- Working knowledge of MCP servers, AI agent tooling, or integration patterns for AI in a business context.
- Security- and governance-conscious engineering practice. You do not need to be told twice that this ships to a regulated business.

### Nice to have

- Experience in consulting, solutions architecture, or embedded engineering.
- Familiarity with the internal stack: Azure or GCP, and Usercentrics' own product platforms.
- Exposure to model serving, RAG pipelines, or MLOps.
- Background in AI governance or responsible AI deployment.
