> Validus Risk Management · Toronto, Canada (Hybrid) · Full-time · Posted 2026-08-18

**Salary:** CAD 55,000–60,000

**Workplace:** hybrid

**Department:** Global Capital Markets

## Description

At Validus, the Global Capital Markets team is responsible for the implementation and ongoing execution of our clients' hedging strategies across foreign exchange and interest rate markets. Acting as an extension of our clients' treasury and investment teams, we ensure every transaction is executed efficiently, competitively and in line with each client's broader risk management objectives.

The team executes more than **US$700 billion** of derivatives transactions annually across **FX, Rates, Equity and Commodity markets,** working with many of the world's leading private capital managers. We combine deep market expertise with proprietary technology to deliver best execution, scalable trading operations and ongoing portfolio monitoring, allowing clients to focus on investment performance rather than trade execution.

## Requirements

### Core Activities

The Global Capital Markets team supports the full lifecycle of derivative execution and portfolio monitoring, ensuring that client hedging strategies are implemented accurately, efficiently and in accordance with best execution principles. In practice, this means the hire will be responsible for:

- Pricing FX Spot, Forward, Swap and Option transactions across multiple execution channels
- Monitoring client hedge portfolios using our proprietary **RiskView** technology
- Preparing market commentary and insights to help clients understand developments across FX and interest rate markets
- Preparing and validating trade requests for execution by senior traders
- Ensuring accurate trade capture and maintaining the integrity of transaction records
- Monitoring FX and interest rate markets proactively to identify opportunities and risks relevant to client hedging programmes
- Ensuring every transaction satisfies our best execution framework and internal trading governance
- Managing relationships with banking counterparties to maintain competitive pricing, execution quality and market access
- Supporting the continuous improvement of trading processes and undertaking ad hoc analytical and strategic projects as required

### Our Stakeholders

The role sits at the intersection of **Risk Advisory, clients and banking counterparties.** Working closely with our Risk Advisory team, we translate client hedging strategies into executable market transactions while ensuring those strategies continue to meet each client's objectives as markets evolve.

We work directly with clients to discuss proposed hedge transactions, provide market insight and ensure execution requests remain aligned with their broader investment and risk management strategy.

Externally, we maintain close relationships with a broad network of global banking counterparties, monitoring pricing competitiveness, credit appetite and execution quality while ensuring each client's overall banking relationships are managed effectively throughout the lifecycle of their hedging programme.

### Technology

Technology sits at the heart of how the Global Capital Markets team operates.

Our proprietary **TradeView** platform, built within the Horizon ecosystem, enables traders to receive, validate, approve and execute client transactions through a single workflow. The platform also supports hedge maturity management, transaction cost analysis and post-trade monitoring, providing a scalable operating model as our client base and trading volumes continue to grow.

Alongside TradeView, our proprietary **RiskView** platform provides real-time oversight of client hedge portfolios, enabling the team to monitor exposures, identify upcoming hedge events and support clients with proactive risk management. Rather than relying on manual processes, the Global Capital Markets team leverages technology to combine institutional-grade execution with operational efficiency at scale.
