### **The Opportunity: Controller**

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our Finance team and support our M&I portfolio companies in the Netherlands. Reporting to the Portfolio Finance Director, you will act as a true finance business partner to the Managing Director and leadership team while owning all finance, accounting, compliance, and reporting activities. This is a hands-on leadership role offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to drive operational and financial improvements across a growing software portfolio.

### **What You'll Own**

**Financial Leadership & Business Partnering**

-   Partner with the Managing Director and functional leaders to support commercial and operational decision-making
-   Translate financial results into actionable insights, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
-   Build and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, budgets, and KPI reporting
-   Support strategic initiatives including pricing reviews, customer retention, cost optimization, and acquisitions
-   Develop KPI dashboards and variance analyses that drive accountability across the leadership team

**Financial Accounting, Reporting & Compliance**

-   Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
-   Prepare accurate and timely financial reports under Dutch GAAP and support Group reporting under IFRS
-   Manage all Dutch statutory compliance requirements, including VAT (BTW), corporate income tax filings, CBS reporting, and annual audits
-   Ensure effective internal controls, compliance with corporate policies, and regulatory requirements
-   Oversee working capital management, cash flow forecasting, invoicing processes, and debt collection activities

**Team Leadership & Process Improvement**

-   Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team
-   Drive process improvements across accounting, reporting, and financial operations
-   Support NetSuite implementation and optimization initiatives where applicable
-   Identify automation opportunities and lead implementation of improved financial systems and processes
-   Assist with integrations and special projects across the portfolio

### **Who You Are**

-   Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
-   Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
-   Previous people management experience
-   Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP, IFRS, Dutch tax compliance, and statutory audit requirements
-   Proven ability to operate as a strategic finance business partner while remaining hands-on
-   Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
-   Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
-   Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite
-   Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbal

**Strongly Preferred**

-   RA, RC, AA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification
-   Experience with Oracle NetSuite or similar ERP systems
-   Previous experience in a software, technology, or private-equity-backed business environment
-   Experience supporting M&A integrations and transformation initiatives
