## Description

**Overview of the Role**

The **Identity & Security Specialist** is responsible for providing operational support for identity, endpoint security, backup, patch management, and security administration across managed customer environments. This role ensures that identity services, endpoint protection, backup operations, and security controls are maintained in accordance with organizational standards and service level agreements (SLAs). 

Responsibilities:

-   Administer user accounts, groups, and permissions across Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and supported cloud platforms. 
-   Assign Microsoft 365 licenses, security groups, and application access. 
-   Configure and support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR), and Conditional Access policies. 
-   Deploy and maintain endpoint security solutions including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and other approved security platforms. 
-   Monitor endpoint protection dashboards for malware detections, security alerts, and compliance issues. 
-   Deploy operating system and third-party application patches using approved management platforms. 
-   Assist with vulnerability remediation activities to maintain compliance targets. 
-   Investigate backup failures and perform initial remediation.
-   Review backup retention status and ensure backups meet customer retention requirements. 
-   Monitor Microsoft 365 Service Health, Azure Service Health, endpoint security platforms, and backup systems. 
-   Administer enterprise password management vaults in accordance with organizational standards. 
-   Create, update, and maintain privileged credentials within approved password vault solutions. 
-   Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles. 
-   Document backup validation results, patch compliance, security activities, and operational changes. 
-   Maintain accurate asset, security, and configuration records.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred. 

-   Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in IT Support, Systems Administration, Identity Administration, or Security Operations. 

-   Experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Defender is desirable. 

-   Experience supporting endpoint management, security monitoring, backup solutions, and patch deployment. 

-   Understanding of identity and access management concepts including MFA, Conditional Access, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and least privilege principles. 

-   Familiarity with enterprise password management solutions and credential security best practices. 

-   Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure services, endpoint security, and backup technologies. 

-   Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
-   Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900), Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102), CompTIA Security+, SC-900, or equivalent are advantageous.
