veritree is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of our platform across web and mobile applications. This individual will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to deliver a seamless user experience. As veritree scales its technology to support global restoration efforts, this role will be critical in maintaining the integrity of our data and the trust of our partners.

### 6 Month Key Outcomes (6m KOs)

1\.     Evolve and update our QA strategy covering functional, regression, and integration testing across web and mobile platforms.

2\.     Build and maintain automated test suites that reduce manual testing effort and accelerate release cycles.

3\.     Identify and document critical defects early in the development lifecycle, contributing to a measurable reduction in production issues.

### What You’ll Do:

### Test Strategy & Execution

•      Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for new features and existing functionality.

•      Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across web and mobile platforms.

•      Collaborate with product and engineering to define acceptance criteria and ensure quality standards are met before release.

•      Track and report on test coverage, defect trends, and quality metrics.

### Test Automation

•      Build and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts to improve testing efficiency.

•      Identify opportunities to expand automation coverage across the platform.

•      Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.

•      Innovate on the QA process and apply the latest in AI to evolve how the QA function can keep pace with the speed of code delivery, while maintaining high quality in our product.

### Defect Management & Collaboration

•      Identify, document, and prioritize defects with clear reproduction steps and severity assessments.

•      Work closely with developers to troubleshoot issues and verify fixes.

•      Participate in sprint ceremonies and contribute to the team’s understanding of quality risks and trade-offs.

### Process Improvement

•      Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and best practices.

•      Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

•      Help establish and maintain testing environments and test data management practices.

## Requirements

### Professional Requirements or Qualifications

•      Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

•      2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or a related testing role.

•      Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing frameworks, and defect lifecycle management.

•      Proven experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).

•      Experience using AI tools to enhance the QA process.

•      Skilled in writing clear, detailed test plans, test cases, and bug reports.

•      Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools like Jira.

veritree ensures that compensation is reviewed fairly and consistently, with opportunities for salary progression tied to sustained performance. As such, the salary range for this role is **$80,000 to $110,000 CAD**.

This range is positioned around the 50th-75th percentile of market data we’ve collected, reflecting our commitment to competitive pay. Final offer amounts are based on individual experience and skillset of the candidate demonstrated during the recruitment process.

We reserve the >75th percentile of our salary ranges for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at veritree.
