## Description

The Music Associate plays a key role in shaping the musical experience at Village Church. This role is responsible for creating and executing music for Sunday services, special events, and creative projects—using both existing and original content. With a strong focus on team-building, this person equips and leads volunteers to deliver excellent, distraction-free worship experiences.

**Work Week:**

-   20 hrs/week 
-   Sundays, regular midweek rehearsals, and occasional extra evenings for special events.
-   Regular mid-week office hours

### Key Responsibilities

-   Build and manage all music tracks and Ableton sessions for services and events
-   Music direct and/or play in bands for Sunday services and special events
-   Lead rehearsals and ensure musical excellence across all environments
-   Train, equip, and support volunteer musicians through workshops and one-on-one development
-   Help recruit, assess, and onboard new volunteers
-   Support and develop musicians within Next Generation ministries
-   Maintain Ableton Live, ProPresenter, and music file systems
-   Ensure accuracy of lyrics, MIDI triggers, and arrangements
-   Help maintain music spaces, studios, and equipment
-   Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture

## Requirements

-   Strong musical ability and technical expertise
-   Proficiency in Ableton Live (required)
-   Familiarity with ProPresenter and Planning Center
-   Creative mindset with the ability to bring ideas to life
-   A collaborative, team-first approach
-   Experience in developing and leading volunteers
-   Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
-   Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
