A respected acute care teaching hospital in Las Vegas is looking for a Director of Risk Management to lead its risk and patient safety program. This is a high-visibility leadership role. You'll partner with physicians and senior leaders, build a culture of safety, and make a real difference in patient outcomes, with strong benefits and room to grow. ## Requirements What You'll Do \- Lead the hospital-wide risk management and patient safety program, including incident reporting, claims management, and the review of patient safety events. \- Run root cause analyses (RCA), failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA), and other quality improvement tools, and turn the findings into action plans. \- Keep the hospital ready for surveys and in line with Joint Commission standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, state regulations, licensing, and accreditation requirements. \- Work with physicians, nursing leaders, and clinical teams on proactive risk reduction and quality improvement. \- Analyze risk and safety data, spot trends, and give leadership clear reports and recommendations. \- Act as a calm, professional point of contact for patients, families, and the public on risk matters. \- Travel occasionally as needed. What You Bring \- A bachelor's degree in a related field (required). A master's degree is preferred. \- 2–5 years of healthcare risk management experience (required). Acute care hospital experience is preferred. \- 3+ years of leadership or management experience (preferred). Management experience is required for this director-level role. \- CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) certification (preferred). \- Strong knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory and accreditation standards. \- Lean or Six Sigma experience and statistical or data analysis skills (a strong plus). \- Skill with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and hospital information systems. \- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
