**Contract type:** 2 years Fixed term, 39.5 hours per week.

**About the team**

The Finance and IT function provides a professional business service, acting as a strategic catalyst for the delivery of WaterAid’s mission. The finance function includes accounting, assurance over the financial control environment, financial analysis and reporting, financial planning, expert advice and support for costing and management of financial resources. The IT function utilizes modern infrastructure solutions by bridging IT requirements with a unified global "Core System”.

**About the role**

As the IT Officer (Systems and Development) is responsible for maintaining WaterAid Ghana's IT infrastructure and supporting the Country Programme's growing use of technology for development (ICT4D), data collection, and organizational systems strengthening. The role combines day-to-day IT support with hands-on involvement in digitizing programme and administrative processes, supporting M&E data systems, and leveraging technology to improve how WaterAid Ghana works — in the office and in the field.

The officer will manage the Country Programme's network, devices, and user systems while working closely with the Programmes and Operations teams to build internal digital capacity and implement practical technology solutions that improve efficiency and programme quality.

**In this role, you will:**

1.  **Network and Connectivity Management:**

-   Set up and maintain an active network environment for the CP in both the Accra and Tamale offices.
-   Manage and monitor the Meraki Firewall dashboard and Ubiquiti Access Points (7 in Accra, 3 in Tamale).
-   Maintain internet access links and monitor bandwidth from multiple providers, including MTN, Telecel, Comsys, and StarLink.
-   Configure, manage, and track all internet protocol devices, including networked printers and hardware.

3.  **Desktop and Application Support:**

-   Provide expert-level support for the Microsoft 365 productivity suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
-   Resolve daily hardware and software issues through "helpdesk support" at the user's end and at mobile locations.
-   Oversee client-side cloud applications, including web-based platforms, Management information systems, HR, and ICT Development platforms.

5.  **Device Lifecycle and Deployment:**

-   Lead the building and configuration of laptops for seamless MS Intune enrollment in accordance with the UK standards.
-   Diagnose, troubleshoot, and ensure the repair of computer hardware and network operating systems.
-   Maintain an accurate technical inventory of all client computers and networked devices.

7.  **Identity and Security Management:**

-   Administer user accounts and the account lifecycle via Active Directory Okta identity management system.
-   Ensure standard procedures to preserve CP IT assets by enforcing policies.
-   Ensure the protection of WAG’s data and networks against viruses through web-based antivirus checks and remote scans

9.  **Training and Onboarding:**

-   Conduct ongoing informal coaching, IT orientations and training for new employees regarding Core IT systems and standard procedures.

11.  **ICT for Development and Systems Strengthening**

-   Support the design and deployment of digital data collection tools for programme and M&E activities to maintain and improve field data collection processes.
-   Assist in identifying and implementing opportunities to digitize administrative and operational processes and support the rollout of new platforms or management information systems as directed.
-   Monitor relevant emerging digital tools and contribute practical recommendations to support the Country Programme's ICT4D agenda.

## Requirements

**To be successful, you will need:**

-   A minimum of a first degree (BSc) or a Professional Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
-   Between 2 - 3 years of proven experience in IT Support, including desktop troubleshooting and hands-on Network Design and Management.
-   Proficiency in managing cloud-based network dashboards (specifically Meraki and Ubiquiti), administering Microsoft 365 environments, and executing device enrollment through MS Intune/Autopilot.
-   Practical experience in user identity management via Identity Management Solution and Remote Active Directory, alongside a strong understanding of ITIL best practices.
-   Familiarity with network mapping and the ability to produce clear technical guides for non-technical users.
-   Experience working in or supporting multi-site or field-based environments with remote connectivity challenges.
-   Exposure to IT budgeting and procurement processes, including vendor and consultant selection.
-   Beginner-level familiarity with ICT4D concepts and tools, and their application in a development or NGO context.
-   Understanding of bandwidth management and experience implementing access policies across shared network environments.

**Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:**

-   Prior experience working in an NGO, development organisation, or public sector environment.
-   Familiarity with Monitoring and Evaluation concepts and how data flows from field collection to reporting.
-   Experience using ICT4D tools, including supporting GIS applications, Power BI in a programme context.
-   Exposure to PIMS, DHIS2, or similar programme information management systems.
-   Basic understanding of ICT4D principles and their application in the WASH or development sector.
