**Job Summary:**

Reporting into the Head of Operations, the Spares and Accessories Category Manager will own the end-to-end planning, procurement, and merchandising of Wattbike’s spare parts and accessories portfolio. You will ensure the right products are available in the right quantities, at the right time and right price, supporting both direct-to-consumer and B2B customers across the UK, US, and Australia. Working cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Ecommerce teams, you will maximise availability, minimise excess stock, and drive the commercial performance of the spares and accessories category.

## Requirements

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Commercial Ownership, Growth and Merchandising**: Own the full P&L for the spares and accessories category, including revenue, gross margin, COGS, and contribution. Set annual budgets and growth targets in collaboration with Finance, presenting performance versus plan at monthly trading reviews. Manage the product range to ensure it is commercially optimised, competitively priced, and aligned with current and future Wattbike products — including new introductions and end-of-life transitions. Identify and develop new revenue opportunities including range extensions, accessory bundles, and upsell initiatives, building the commercial case for each and leading execution from sourcing through to launch.

**Buying and Procurement:** Source, negotiate, and purchase spares and accessories from approved suppliers. Build strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, favourable lead times, and consistent quality. Raise and manage purchase orders through to delivery, resolving any supplier queries or delays.

**Demand Planning and Forecasting:** Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, customer service ticket trends, warranty claim volumes, and seasonal patterns. Translate forecasts into procurement plans to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent both out-of-stocks and overstock situations.

**Inventory Management:** Own stock levels across all spares and accessories SKUs. Conduct regular stock reviews, set reorder points and safety stock parameters, and take proactive action to resolve slow-moving or obsolete inventory. Maintain accurate stock records across all warehouse locations including third-party service centres.

**Cross-functional Collaboration:** Work closely with Customer Service to understand demand driven by repairs, warranty claims, and customer enquiries. Collaborate with Operations on inbound logistics and warehousing, and with Ecommerce on digital trading, online range presentation, and promotional activity.

**Supplier and Third-party Service Centre Management:** Manage the supply of components to third-party repair and service centre partners, ensuring accurate stock allocation, replenishment, and reporting. Monitor component usage at service centre level, identifying opportunities for improvement.

**Reporting and Analysis:** Produce regular reports covering category P&L performance, stock availability, cover days, supplier performance, sell-through rates, and margin by product line. Present findings and recommendations to the Head of Operations and leadership team weekly and monthly.

**Systems and Data Management:** Maintain accurate product, supplier, and inventory data within the ERP and inventory management systems. Drive process improvements to enhance planning accuracy, reporting efficiency, and stock control.

**Experience and Measures of Success:**

Commercial and P&L: Experience owning or contributing to a category P&L including revenue, gross margin, and cost management, with the ability to set targets and present performance confidently to senior stakeholders. KPI — Year-on-year category revenue growth and gross margin improvement against annual targets agreed with Finance.

**Category Management or Buying:** Proven background in category management, buying, or procurement within a product-led, e-commerce, or manufacturing business, with a track record of supplier negotiation and commercial range management. KPI — Procurement cost savings of 3–5% year on year. Supplier on-time and in-full delivery at 98%.

**Demand Planning and Inventory:** Strong background in demand forecasting and inventory planning, including setting reorder points, managing safety stock, and resolving slow-moving stock. KPI — Minimum 85% forecast accuracy (MAPE). In-stock rate of 95%+ across active SKUs. Stock cover maintained within agreed target ranges.

**Growth and Commercial Initiative:** Evidence of identifying and executing growth opportunities through range development, pricing, promotional activity, or new revenue streams, with the confidence to build a business case and deliver it. KPI — At least two incremental revenue initiatives launched per year, tracked against agreed contribution targets.

**Supplier Relationship Management:** Experience managing supplier relationships and monitoring performance against agreed KPIs, resolving issues commercially and collaboratively. KPI — Supplier OTD at 95%+ monthly. Structured improvement plans in place for underperforming suppliers.

**Systems Proficiency:** Proficient in ERP and inventory management systems. Strong Excel or Google Sheets capability for analysis and forecasting. Shopify experience is a plus. KPI — 100% purchase order and inventory record accuracy in the ERP at all times. All reports delivered on time and without material errors.

**Cross-functional and Stakeholder Working**: Experience working across Operations, Finance, and Ecommerce teams, presenting data and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a fast-moving environment. KPI — Measurable reduction in spares-related customer service tickets as a proportion of total contacts.

**Sector Knowledge:** Background in fitness equipment, consumer electronics, or a comparable product category is desirable. Familiarity with spare parts supply chains, component lifecycles, and warranty management is a significant advantage. KPI — 100% of active product lines have a fully stocked and accurately priced spares range within 90 days of product launch.
