**Salary:** Up to BRL 96,000

**Workplace:** on_site

## Description

### About We Are Nature

We Are Nature stewards two unique hospitality destinations in Brazil: Pousada Picinguaba, on the Atlantic coast of Ubatuba, and Fazenda Catuçaba, a 400-hectare regenerative farm and hospitality retreat located between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

**Fazenda Catuçaba** is much more than a hotel. It is a living ecosystem where hospitality, regenerative agriculture, forests, lakes, animals, architecture, and community coexist. Guests come seeking beauty, connection, and meaningful experiences rooted in nature.

As we enter a new phase of growth, we are looking for **an experienced Operations Manager who can oversee not only hospitality operations, but also help steward the broader ecosystem of the farm and its infrastructure.**

### The Role

This role combines three dimensions:

**Hospitality Operations:**

- Ensuring guests experience the warmth, attention to detail, and excellence of a family-run hospitality project.

**Farm & Land Stewardship**

- Supporting the daily management of regenerative agricultural activities, animals, gardens, and the broader landscape.

**Maintenance & Infrastructure**

- Overseeing maintenance of houses, common areas, equipment, roads, water systems, and farm infrastructure.
- You will work closely with the owners and local teams to ensure that hospitality and land management remain integrated.

### Responsibilities

**Hospitality**

- Lead day-to-day operations of Fazenda Catuçaba.
- Supervise guest experience, housekeeping, food & beverage, reservations, and logistics.
- Ensure high service standards and attention to detail.
- Coordinate retreats, groups, and private buyouts.
- Monitor occupancy and operational KPIs.

**Farm & Regenerative Operations**

- Coordinate farm teams and seasonal activities.
- Support vegetable gardens, agroforestry systems, animals, and regenerative initiatives.
- Monitor supplies, equipment, and daily operations.
- Help maintain a culture of care and stewardship toward the land.

**Maintenance & Infrastructure**

- Supervise maintenance of houses, buildings, roads, water systems, and equipment.
- Coordinate external contractors and technical services.
- Anticipate and solve operational problems proactively.
- Ensure safety and functionality across the property.

**Leadership**

- Lead multidisciplinary teams with warmth and accountability.
- Recruit, train, and develop people.
- Foster a positive culture rooted in trust and collaboration.
- Build systems and processes while preserving the soul of a family-run operation.

## Requirements

### For You If…

- You have experience managing farms or rural properties.
- You have experience managing hotels, lodges, eco-resorts, or retreat centers.
- You enjoy nature and feel energized by a slower, healthier, and more grounded lifestyle.
- You are comfortable moving between guest relations, maintenance, and land management.
- You are a practical problem solver who enjoys making things work.
- You are an excellent people manager and naturally lead with calm and respect.
- You appreciate simplicity, authenticity, and meaningful human relationships.
- You are curious about regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and nature-based living.
- You enjoy being outdoors and are not afraid to get your boots dirty.
- You speak Portuguese fluently and English confidently.

### Especially Relevant Experience

- Farm hospitality or eco-lodges.
- Boutique hotels, pousadas, resorts, or retreat centers.
- Permaculture or regenerative agriculture.
- Maintenance and infrastructure management.
- Team leadership and operational systems.
- Experience living and working in rural environments.

### This Role Is Not For You If…

- You prefer urban environments and traditional corporate structures.
- You are uncomfortable living in a remote, rural setting.
- You are highly specialized in only one area and dislike wearing multiple hats.
- You need rigid systems and constant supervision.
- You are motivated primarily by status rather than purpose and stewardship.

At Fazenda Catuçaba, hospitality extends beyond guests. We care for forests, lakes, animals, houses, gardens, and people.

**We are looking for someone who feels called to steward a living ecosystem.**

## Benefits

- Base compensation: R$84.000/year, contractor (PJ).
- Performance bonus linked to occupancy and operational results (TBD according to seniority and background)
- Housing allowance of up to R$1,000/month to support accommodation in the village of Catuçaba or nearby communities.
- Opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role within We Are Nature.
- 90-day mutual trial period. The first 30 days will focus on immersion and early results, followed by a review of alignment and priorities. The intention is for both sides to ensure the collaboration is a strong long-term fit.
