We are looking for an experienced **Head of People – India** to lead the people strategy, HR operations, and organisational development agenda for a growing **Global Capability Centre (GCC)** in Bengaluru.

The role combines strategic **HR Business Partnering, GCC people leadership, talent management, organisational design, employee engagement, workforce planning, and culture development**. The ideal candidate will be a senior HR leader who can partner closely with business and global leadership while also driving strong execution across the India organisation.

You will play a critical role in building a high-performing organisation, aligning people strategy with business priorities, and creating scalable HR practices that support growth, leadership development, and long-term organisational effectiveness.

## Requirements

Key Responsibilities

-   Lead the overall **People and HR strategy** for the India organisation in alignment with business and global objectives.
-   Act as a strategic **HR Business Partner** to senior leadership and functional heads.
-   Partner with global leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into effective people strategies.
-   Lead the people agenda for the **Global Capability Centre (GCC)**, supporting growth, organisational effectiveness, and global integration.
-   Develop workforce plans aligned with business growth, capability requirements, and future talent needs.
-   Drive organisational design, workforce optimisation, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
-   Build strong talent-management frameworks covering performance, career development, retention, and internal mobility.
-   Partner with Talent Acquisition teams to build scalable hiring strategies and strengthen critical talent pipelines.
-   Lead employee engagement and culture initiatives that support a high-performance and inclusive workplace.
-   Provide leadership on compensation, rewards, benefits, and people-related policies in partnership with relevant teams.
-   Guide managers and senior leaders on employee relations, performance matters, organisational changes, and people decisions.
-   Lead change-management initiatives associated with organisational growth, transformation, restructuring, or new operating models.
-   Establish HR governance, policies, processes, and operating mechanisms appropriate for a growing GCC.
-   Use people analytics and workforce insights to support data-driven leadership decisions.
-   Strengthen leadership capability through coaching, development programs, and succession planning.
-   Collaborate with global HR teams to ensure consistency while adapting people practices to the India environment.
-   Ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations, company policies, and HR governance requirements.
-   Build a strong HR team and establish clear ownership, service standards, and operating rhythms.
-   Continuously improve HR processes, employee experience, organisational effectiveness, and people operations.

What Makes You a Great Fit

-   **15+ years of progressive HR experience**, including significant experience in senior HR leadership roles.
-   Proven experience leading the **People/HR function for a GCC, multinational organisation, technology company, or similarly complex environment**.
-   Strong expertise in strategic **HR Business Partnering (HRBP)** and senior stakeholder management.
-   Demonstrated experience partnering with executive and global leadership teams on people and organisational priorities.
-   Strong understanding of **GCC operating models, workforce planning, organisational design, and capability building**.
-   Extensive experience across talent management, leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, compensation, and succession planning.
-   Strong experience managing organisational transformation and change in fast-growing or evolving environments.
-   Excellent understanding of India employment practices, HR policies, employee relations, and compliance.
-   Strong analytical and strategic-thinking skills with the ability to connect people initiatives to business outcomes.
-   Exceptional communication, influencing, coaching, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
-   Ability to operate effectively at both **strategic and execution levels**, with strong ownership and commercial awareness.
-   Experience building and scaling HR teams, processes, and operating frameworks from the ground up.
-   Strong cultural sensitivity and experience working with globally distributed teams and diverse stakeholders.
-   Bachelor's or Master's degree in **Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline** is preferred; an advanced HR qualification such as an MBA/PGDM in HR is an advantage.
