We are looking for an experienced **Engineering Manager** to lead and develop a high-performing software engineering team while driving technical excellence, product delivery, and engineering productivity. This role combines people management with strong technical leadership and offers the opportunity to influence architecture, engineering practices, and product strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong software development background, proven experience managing engineering teams, and hands-on expertise in building scalable, distributed, and cloud-native applications. You will work closely with Product, Design, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions.

## Requirements

### KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-   Lead and mentor a team of **5–10 software engineers** across one or more product areas.
-   Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale, high-impact software projects.
-   Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and other stakeholders to define and execute product roadmaps.
-   Provide technical direction through architecture discussions, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
-   Participate in hands-on coding and technical problem-solving when required.
-   Ensure timely delivery of scalable, reliable, secure, and high-quality software systems.
-   Conduct regular 1:1s, establish goals, provide performance feedback, and support team members' career development.
-   Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, design discussions, automation, and development standards.
-   Participate in architectural decisions and guide teams on technical direction.
-   Identify and resolve system performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
-   Drive effective SDLC, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
-   Contribute to hiring, onboarding, team structuring, and engineering capacity planning.
-   Promote the use of modern engineering and GenAI tools to improve development productivity.
-   Work with leadership to identify technical risks, opportunities, and long-term engineering priorities.

### WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

-   **8+ years of software development experience**, including at least **2+ years in engineering management or technical leadership**.
-   Strong hands-on experience with **Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs**, and modern backend technologies.
-   Proven experience designing **distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native applications**, particularly on AWS.
-   Strong understanding of **SaaS architecture**, scalability, performance, reliability, and system design.
-   Good knowledge of **SQL and NoSQL databases**.
-   Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps principles.
-   Proven ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams.
-   Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder-management, and decision-making skills.
-   Experience working in fast-paced product, startup, or high-growth environments.
-   Exposure to frontend frameworks such as **React** is an advantage.
-   Familiarity with **Databricks, AWS SageMaker, Azure Fabric, Kafka, Spark, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, EMR, AWS Athena, and AWS Glue** is a plus.
-   Experience using GenAI development tools such as **Cursor, Codex, Claude Code**, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
-   Prior experience scaling engineering teams from startup to mid-sized organizations is preferred.
-   Experience in **Healthcare, FinTech, or SaaS** domains is an advantage.
-   Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as **HITRUST, SOC 2, and GDPR** is a plus.
-   Bachelor's degree in **IT, Computer Science, Engineering**, or an equivalent discipline.
